What do you think of this?
When you are hired to do a signing and then after you have printed docs and everything they send you another e mail that you have to drop the package just after signing with a company that is like 10 or 15 miles further than your regular drop box. Let's say it's not fed ex but California overnight. And the problem is that you have already another signing in another location and in different direction than the place they want you to drop the package?
Thank you.

I think it's a PITA. That being said, there really isn't enough information to decide. Did this happen for the week-end business? If so, on Fri., for ex., then is Sat am pu available? If so, it really won't get attention until Mon, so no big deal. And the service being used - do they only have that one location? Or would an alternate be available?
There being more than one way to skin a cat....see how more info would be of value in determining an answer?

@#$%&%!
I think it's a PITA but it's one of those things that happens.
I'd try and be nice about it... how bad do they need the docs, how hard is it to fudge my next appointment. Sometimes CA Overnight or GSN is the only way to get docs there that they're desperate for.
Wadayagonnado?
BTW SOMETIMES you can solve it easy... by telling the receptionist at the TC your problem and seeing if they can give you a FedEx number. Or just asking for their FedEx number without explanation. I've done this a few times, more times then not they'll just give it to you.
But it may be that CA Overnight or whoever was the only one that could take the late drop.

Exactly. No guarantees, last FedEx is out at 1:45...2 if I
can make Salishan Resort in time.
Instant gratification just isn't possible here - even with an early app't. Too many variables.

Ridiculous even if it's a purchase/sale or a split signing
I can understand a purchase/sale having to go ASAP, or a split signing where you are signing the first party and the package has to go to a notary or the second party ASAP, but even then to demand that you incur extra time and expense, and delay other appointments in the process, to drop the package at a small delivery company that doesn't have a pickup service is way out of line. I would have asked if California Overnight has a pickup service. If so, the completed package could be left with the borrowers for a pickup by California Overnight. Of course if you don't have any of their packaging materials (envelope, label, whatever), that wouldn't be an option either. Or perhaps the borrowers would be willing to take the package and drop it off, after you call the title company and obtain permission for them to do so. If they did not tell you about the unusual dropoff requirements when you accepted the assignment, I would have called and let them know I have the docs and am ready to go to the closing, BUT I also have an appointment in another location and direction and their requirement would make me late for the subsequent appointment. They should propose another workable solution. It is arrogant of some companies to act as if we all sit by our phones and computers with absolutely no other work than their one assignment, and we can therefore easily accommodate their every whim and delay.
