Work??

Is anyone in Idaho getting calls to do closings??

No.

Idaho is no longer allowing closings. They are withdrawing from the union.

Re: No.

Very funny! It would seem like that, though. Last month only 10 all month. Turned down one because the company has a terrible payment record.

Sorry Colleen, couln't resist.

Things are slow all over. Florida seems to be picking up a bit with closings, but thank the Almighty I have my fingers in several other lucrative pies.

Can I offer you some good advice?

I belong to the Florida NSA Network, and networking with other like-minded NSA's within my state has proved to be a most valuable tool for me.

You don't have to start a professional network, just get in contact with other like-minded NSA's within your state, who either don't travel to your area, or those who travel to your area but live outside it. Offer to reciprocate referrals to one another, when either you or the other can't accommodate the signing.
A good way to start would be to use NR's find a notary, and be sure to investigate anyone you want to refer work to. You want to reciprocate with other experienced professionals who guarantee their work to be error-free.
Best of luck to you.

Yahoo!

I rarely log in to reply, but this made me laugh so hard that I hurt. Sometimes I wish it were true that Idaho is withdrawing from the union. But alas we are not. Our area has picked up a little, but it is still very slow. We are really no different than any other state. The way we see the industry right now is to either keep hanging in there or look for something else. We've thankfully been able to do both. Good luck.

Things seem to be improving here

Dec was the worst month I ever had, Jan was only slightly better but so far Feb has been pretty good. Saw a flock of robins this morning, spring is just around the corner, maybe the closings are coming with spring.

"Saw a flock of robins this morning, spring is just around the corner, maybe the closings are coming with spring."

Last month I saw thousands of robins on a river bend in Cent. Fla. - so if that were true, it stands to reason I would have been swamped. No, not true, but improving.

Re: Things seem to be improving here

You probably have robins year round in Fl. Here they come with the spring and leave with the fall.

robins winter here, their range is to N. Fl only. I haven't

seen any in years where I live, probably because of the mockingbirds who are very territorial. Ask anyone who gets too close to their nests: they are dive-bombed until driven away. Fiesty little things!

I was on a twisty river and as we rounded a bend I thought we entered an aviary, the noise from the various song birds was immense. There were several species, but the robin struck me first and foremost since I hadn't seen one in years.

Now I am frequently seeing flocks heading back north.

Re: Robins

I love the Robins, really I do, but I hate it when they come here because that means the Robin hunters will be out killing them illegally. Illegal Robin hunting has been a problem in a few of the towns north of me for years and now with the pi$$ poor economy, I expect the poaching to be much worse than in past years.

As I understand it, fried Robin was a real treat for the early settlers of the east coast of Florida and in the existing old, long standing towns to my north, they regularly shoot, kill and eat Robin even though they know it is not legal. Last year, the county SO was cracking down and making arrests. I hope they do the same this year.

P.S. I hope I haven't freaked anyone out...this is real. People in these parts used to eat the Manatee too.

Re: Last month was a nice surprise, this month blah..

The vast majority of what I've been seeing were people taking advantage of the blip where interest rates went down for a while. I usually don't pay that much attention to credit scores and other personal information, but recently many have been discussing them at the table. Seems like I'm only seeing loans for people with very high credit scores and very solid documentation -- either high income, low LTV, etc. Sadly, it seems like the people who still most need to refinance aren't able to get approval. Or maybe it's just my clients......?

Hi Colleen,

I'm in Colorado and signings have been making a steady come-back the last few months. Just hang-on. Sign-up with everyone you can. It's going to take time for business to re-coup. A lot of us have other jobs or businesses now so we have a steady paycheck coming in. Which is a very good idea in these times.

After Obama passing this new package you should start to get calls for re-fi's, modifications and purchases.

Have a great week Smile
