Background check
I received an email from Fiserv in Dec. stating that they will only accept the XYZ background check. I challenged them with the one from this site. No they stated they would not accept it!! I told them too bad it has been nice working with you. Guess who called me today for a signing?? Ummm

If one background check is not enough. If we got background checks from everyone that offers one we would go broke. Just more paperwork to file and more money for the folks doing background checks. One works for me as well.
And they still called you back. Guess a lot of notaries feel the same way
Have a great day.

I have challenged this with Fiserve Corporate. I sent the VP a copy of my 2006 BGC and my 2008 BGC. They are identical, both done by LexisNexis. Fiserve will accept the 2006 because it was done through NNA but will not accept the one done in 2008 because it was not done through NNA.

I too got an email saying that mine expired and needed to be renewed.
What a joke perpetrated under false pretenses. NOWHERE does the GLB or any other act require a BGC.
The entire BGC performed is actually null and void the instant it is completed. It is merely a snapshot in time of what your record shows when they perform the check. If my state says I am qualified to perform my duties that should be good enough.
A simple non-disclosure agreement should be all that is necessary to comply with the intent of the law. Recurring BGc's are redundant and a waste of my money.
