county on notarized document

I am notarizing a document in a different county than where I reside.
This document has a line with county typed under it and it is next to the Notary Public line. It does not state "in and for the county of" and it does not state "residing in". There is also a sentance in this document that reads "Notary Public and for Bradford County". It had the county's name already typed in. I am not sure what county I should enter on the blank line asking for county next to my name. Is it the county I am in or the county I reside in? It only has County under the line.

The venue is always the county in which the notarization is being performed.

And be sure to initial any changes you make to the venue or else it may get kicked back.

Good luck.

Where your feet are planted when you do the notarization. Not where you live..

If it's a doc like a signature affidavit, I ignore what's under the line. I ignore EVERYTHING except what PA requires. Some notary blocks (most often jurats) ask for type of id ... I "x" it out because that's not a PA requirement. I've always wondered how many insert actual drivers license numbers on that line and then it gets recorded. If the venue is at the top of the doc or just prior to the notary block, I use it. If not, I insert my own.

A little off topic but how about all the acks coming thruogh with the new CA swearing under perjury section? I'm wondering how many in other states sign away. I am not swearing anything under CA perjury ... because PA doesn't tell me I have to. I also cross that line out.

I did a loan last week and I was the second part. Property and first signers were in CA. I guess someone was being "Helpful" because they stapled these CA all purpose jurats to every doc that got notarized. I didn't use them but what were those first 5 or 6 very faint lines at the top to be used for?
