21st Century Legal Services
In April, there were several people who said they'd not been paid by 21st Century, or received checks from them that bounced; have any of you gotten good checks yet? I'm waiting since early June. First check bounced. I really don't expect a second one. I think I'll try the certified letter course that someone suggested.

They have a new bank account now.
It's at B of A in Rancho Cucamonga and under a different name. I know because they finally paid me for a no-sign that happened quite a while ago.

The sad truth of the matter is that we should all be avoiding this company like the plague and not work for any companies that do this kind of work. They are thieves, leeches and the worse kind of predator on the planet. Kicking people when they are down is not a very honorable way of making a living in my opinion, and I think that we as notaries have a choice in the kind of work we choose to do. 21st Century doesn't pay that much!
To boot, they are being investigated for fraud by State, Local and Federal agencies. That ought to say a whole lot to all of us. I know a guy in Ventura county CA who worked for CW during the NINJA loans, after he lost his job at CW's imploding, he also became a "workout guru" to work out these bad loans, extorting even more money from the poor borrower. He now comes to foreclosure auctions and picks up these properties for 50% of what CW lent on these properties prior to 2007. He shows up wherever there is opportunity, again, not a very honorable way to make a living, profiting at the expense of people less knowledgeable and sophisticated in RE investing.
IMHO.

101livescan, I didn't read all of this until after I'd accepted the job; I don't intend to accept anymore; I feel smarmy. :[

Hey, Tulsa, in the heartland of America, you don't need to feel smarmy at all...we're all learning as we go...now that you know...you know. We've all been down the same path with you at some point.

Talk to Ozzie at 909.519.8458 as he seems to be the "go to" guy. Maybe if enough of us call his cell phone, he'll do something. He also said to fax an invoice to 909.944.1926 so let's inundate them with faxes. If the check bounces, isn't that fraud and can't we prosecute?

madhatter - this whole company is a fraud
Have you not been reading about them? They are illegally doing business in many states - perhaps in yours as well.
What does that say about them? And you are now complicit in their nefarious activities. This is on-going concern for many here for many, many months now.
