Girl called me for an appointment. I told her I don't accept assignments from her company. She hung up in my face. What's up with that?

Don't take it personally - companies have been known to do that as soon as you tell them no, regardless of the reasoning. You may be thankful that no conversation took place because then you may be more upset with that instead of simply being hung up on.

When I receive calls for loan modifications

regardless of the company, I just nicely tell the caller that I am not handling loan modifications at this time. I don't feel that I owe them an explantion why or because of who they are unless THEY dig for my reason. They are usually satified with that one statement.

I had a call from a couple of times this week. No one has been that rude even when I tell them I'm not interested in working for their company. You probably had someone that has been turned down a lot by us and is frustrated.

I can't say very much on this...I have actually hung up on a few SS/TC companies that offered me wayyyyyyyyyyyyy below a reasonable fee. I see it as a waste of my time even trying to negotiate a decent fee from these types of entities. They will either delay pay or no pay you...so why even bother tring to work with them. If I insult them by hanging up in their face...so be it...I have no interest in working with them anyway. No big deal.

See it from their angle...if you're not willing to take the bait...they'll pull up the line and fish elsewhere. In fact, they're doing you a favor...saving you lots of problems in the future. Send them a Thank-You note.

I agree - no sense negotiating...HOWEVER, I feel it's very rude and a very unprofessional practice to just hang up on a company, no matter who it is....hear their intro (this is so-and-so from XXX), let them offer the assignment, then just say no - simple as that...but IMO hanging up on a company for ANY reason makes one just as unprofessional and/or unreasonable as they are.

@ Notary Guy - if someone wants to research a company, please let them do it themselves. There's really no reason to post the comments section on a thread to waste time/space.

I click to see if someone has something to say that assists notaries, but someone copying and pasting is a waste of time. JMHO

He's ignored 100 other requests to stop doing it, I doubt yours will be the one that does the trick. He also really doesn't contribute anything else to this board. I guess everyone needs a hobby, hopefully some day he'll change his to needlepoint.

This one really gets me. This co. has been discussed so much, including that they are under investigation in many states. How can the concern be whether they are professional or do/or don't pay?
