Anyone have any experience with Brother 5370DWT printer

I am considering purchasing this but cannot find many reviews on the product. I am looking for a printer w/dual paper trays that will auto select & I have had great experience w/my current Brother TIA

I've been using the 5250DNT for about the last 9 months. I like it. Needed to learn about some of the quirks, but it's fast & reliable. I recently learned from tech support about cleaning the corona wire on the drum--great to know. Someone had also passed along a trick about putting tape over the hole in the toner cartridge to get more use out it. It works! I think the 5370 is the latest step-up from the 5250. I also think it is the one Costco had on sale. Someone said the extra tray was expensive.

I saw the 5370DWT on the Costco site. It looks really good, built for higher volume printing (says 30,000 p/m) & has wireless capabiity. Obviously, the one you're looking at already has the 2nd tray.
I would check the price of toner cartridges, especially the high-volume one. I use only remanufactured cartridges from LD Products/4 Inkjets & have good success with them.

Checked LD Products and they do not yet have compatible cartridges for the 5370--they say they will soon.

I also use the 5250DNT. I'm curious about the "trick" with the hole in the cartridge. What hole might that be?

I use the bottom tray for legal size and the roller will crease the top of the page sometimes. I have found it helps to fan the paper before filling the tray.

the "trick" with the hole in the cartridge

There are 2 sensors that "tell" us that the printer is out of toner.
They are located on both sides of the printer toner cartridge.
If you cover those up (I use black electrical tape), you can continue to use the
leftover toner until it's used up, rather than get those pesky "toner low" or "no toner"
messages.
FWIW, I am getting at least 200 pages of usable printing when I use the tape cover up.

Does that do more than "burping" the cartridge? I never go by the light that goes on to tell me the toner is getting low.

Re: the "trick" with the hole in the cartridge

Thanks, Misty. I knew I had received that tip from someone on this board. The issue w/Brother printers is that they stop printing when the toner light comes on. I knew for sure that I had to be wasting toner in those cartridges. There was never a problem with print quality before the light goes on. Sure enough, tape it up & continue printing. It will be interesting to see how much longer it will print like that.
