Cogent Closing Associates/Dynamic Solutions

I just accepted a closing with Dynamic Solutions. I looked them up as best I could, but didn't find anything. When I printed the docs Cogent Closing Associates is listed. Is this normal that two signing companies are involved. I have already confirmed and will do the signing...but I am wondering what I have gotten myself into. I see from previous posts that Cogent Closing Associates do not pay. I don't understand how these companies can get away with putting one number on the HUD and then paying the real notary soooo much less - and then to not even pay!

As far as I know, Cogent is a title company. Maybe they are using the services of Dynamic? Please tell me it's not Dynamic Field Solutions!

I just checked my confirmation and sadly it is. I have just started working directly with SS here in florida. In NY I worked directly with Title Companies as a Title/Loan Closer. I never had a problem being paid as my name was on the HUD. Isn't that what the HUD laws are all about?
Can you tell me, once I have confirmed the appointment, printed the package and then found out about these companies, should I finish the assignment? I am a true professional, but not sure how to proceed.

If it were me, I would not work for them. I would turn the job back and take the printing loss.

If you want to follow through with the assignment, you could try contacting them with concerns about their poor payment history and ask them to pay upfront via PayPal.

I cannot believe that Cogent has hooked up with Dynamic Field Solutions, after all the trouble they had with Coversign... What a joke.

Sadly Roxy it happens all to often. We are just the independent contractor the SS hires (as cheap as they can get you to work for.) They get the gold mine and we get the shaft especially when the SS decides not to pay you.

That is one reason notaries like to work for Title/Escrow companies directly and not through a SS. If we work for Title/Escrow companies directly we get our fair fee and get paid in a timely manner.

Hopefully in the future laws will be passed to regulate SS to protect the notary and make sure notaries are paid. SS should have a escrow account for notary payments, licensed, fines and lates fees when they do not comply with the law.

JMO Right now as you have read on this board there are also a lot of "Wantabees" just other notaries trying to pass themselves off as SS.
I know there are some very good SS out there. But sadly it appears we are getting more and more not so great SS popping-up out of nowhere or just changing the company name so they can "hide" who they really are. So all we can do is report the bad ones on all the notary sites and keep each other informed regarding our experiences. Be Careful and check on people.
Late payers are potential No payers. There is no reason a notary should have to more then 30 days for their pay. Remember how hard you have worked for that money. Being a mobile notary is just not a "cheap gig" we need to be paid and paid on time.

I've never worked for either company...luckily...

But sadly, if you search here..you'll find that neither Cogent nor Dynamic Field Solutions pays...you're stuck in a no win (or no pay) situation..

It's your call but I, personally, wouldn't work for either one of them....I don't like working for free.

Re: I've never worked for either company...luckily...

I would not do the job. After getting stiffed in the past, I am much more careful now. I call a call from that 21st Century and I accepted not knowing anything about them. I did my research and found out they are bad news and emailed them and told them I would not be doing the assigment due to their bad reputation. I would tell them they mis-represented themselves and they were not upfront with you as to who they are.

Call and give it back to them. Eat the print fee and save yourself a lot of time...both in completing the assignment for free and the time spend trying to chase your money.

I worked for Coversign about 2-3 years ago, did 2 closings for them...had a horrible time collecting. I did get paid....but it was a long process that cost me a lot of time.

Working for good companies equals professionalism to me. Letting deadbeats know that you are not going to take their $hit....in way lowers your professionalism
