Colorado Notaries

Just a reminder…Senate Bill 111 Effective July 1, 2009 states that : (paraphrase) Colorado Notaries must keep a record journal of “each notarial act preformed” Not just notarial acts effecting real property. This law is supposed to “help fight mortgage fraud” How keeping a journal of notarial acts not effecting real property will do this confuses me a bit, but I guess our esteemed legislators know best? (Oh, they also get to raise the cost of your Notary Commission) At least no fingerprints.…yet.

Thanks Les, for mentioning the new changes on this board. I received the notification this morning also. I did check the SOS web site and noted that the notary handbook has changed.

Thanks for the reminder Les. Yup! Everyone under the sun just keeps raising prices (except notaries) Go figure Smile
