Curses, foiled again! This time by SUNSET SIGNING, LLC
Dummy me. Got an assiggnment from Sunset Signings, LLC. Having nevr heeard of them, I accepted without serching this site. Learned the hard way to not be so eager. We to a rural area late on a Friday afternoon. Signing went well. After 12 weeks, the policy of paying every two weeks has managed to ignore me. All calls to the company get an answering machine, and there has been no return call in response to my requests. Emails to [e-mail address] have gone unanswered, except the the automatic response that says I'll hear from them with 24 hours. Tonight, I emailed them several long videos which will take a while to download, encouraging them to enjoy the videos while waiting to pay me. Maybe they'll get tired of waiting for their email program to finish downloading useless videos, and give up and pay me....... Also faxed them 4 pages of related paperwork, such as my initial assignment, the invoice, etc. Then I faxed all four pages about 8 more times.... Hope I can get their attention and a favorable response. It just might be cheaper and earier to pay me as they promised.

I too am getting foiled by them. I just flooded their fax also with my invoice. I've sent it 3 times in the past 2 months and also have emailed with no response. I am kicking myself for letting this one slip through. There are 2 Sunsets in SC and for some reason I thought they were ok. But in reading comments about both, neither one has positive remarks. I'll remember the name now.

Why don't you call the lender or title company? This crap has to stop.

rather than childishly sending them videos, why don't you act like a business and institute real collection procedures such as a law suit or the promise of one?

Agree with Sue
Your emails and/or faxes to Sunset Signing, LLC should include copies to the title company with a notation that you will be going DIRECTLY to the title company for payment if Sunset doesn't pay you within X days from the date of the fax or email. That should get their attention. Be ready to follow through with any promise.
Hopefully the title company will call Sunset and say, "Look, we paid you already, why is this Notary now bothering US for payment?"

Not to mention the fact that the title company may
think twice about using Signing Services who don't pay the notaries....SS's may clean up their act if they risk losing their TC clients as a result of their nonpayment.
But videos? I agree that's kind of silly....I also don't agree with gouging their fax with continuous looping faxes....those are the kinds of maneuvers that get you put on ignore in a heartbeat.

Don't waste your time or money...
sending multiple faxes. Many businesses use an e-fax system these days. The fax just comes into the computer like an email, so they can view it before printing. It's very quick and easy to hit the "delete" key.

The last two companies that jerked me around received a FINAL EMAIL from me stating that I would be contacting the TC in the morning and they BOTH sent responses that my check was being issued that Friday (and I got them). I actually did call the TC on North Star Notary out of Huntington Beach, CA and North Star sent me a PERSONAL check that I received two days later.

But why did you take so long? And what about your bad rep in
Signing Central? Is this what we can ALL expect??? The fact that you FINALLY paid is beside the point. Can notaries send out docs after 14 weeks?!?!?!? Of course not!!!!! VERRRRY shabby business practices

Yep, I received my check after almost 14 weeks. After ignoring calls, emails, and faxes, maybe it was the posting here that got their attention. Never again. Another member suggested I begin legal action, or at least threaten to do so, rather than use my silly tactics. Don't know how things are where you live, but being in Alabama and even thinking of going to such measures over $100 is ludicrous. When someone owes me and cchooses to ignore me, I just try to get their attention in a polite way as often as necessary for them to pay what they owe in order for me to stop getting their attention. We really have better things to do. I paid for several very cheap calls for faxing, and paid more in frustration trying to deal with someone who apparently preferred to ignore me and guip me, but I finally got paid. As far as I'm concerned, the sun has set on Sunset Signings.

We have been doing signings for over 3.5 years, and since we do over 300 signings per month, there are bound to be some signings where payments either get overlooked or they are sent to the wrong address. We want everyone to know that we absolutely take care of our payments in the quickest way possible after we have determined the issue of why payment has not been received. We would not still be in business if we did not take care of our bills. Thank you all.

Sunset signings are liars. he doesn't not pay. I'm amazed that he is still in business. I did a job in sept 09 and here it is march 2010, and still not one response to my many emails and faxes. does not take care of their bills. is as dishonest as anyone could possibly be.
