Fox Signing Services - What a fool I am.

I used to do closings for this company a couple of years ago, and they paid fantastic. I've read the stories on here and was surprised until it happened to me about 8 months ago. I had to chase them for 3 months for payment. Now, in early June (when I was slow) I accepted a closing from them with the "understanding" that I did not want to chase them for payment. I was assured that the last time was an oversight. I performed the closing and voila, I'm waiting on payment, though I've repeatedly called, emailed and hassled them. I feel stupid, but this is the last time Fox gets foxy with me.

Sometimes good companies go bad, but Fox has had a bad rep for a long time.

Trust the comments you read here, and don't think your experience is going to somehow be different just because you worked for them years ago without a problem. And if they jerked you around 8 months ago, why give them another crack at it?? I understand that things are slow, but accepting work from a company that has a track record like theirs seems sort of counterproductive to me - especially after they gave you the runaround once.

As for feeling stupid - don't. Companies like this will promise ANYTHING to get you to do the job, and then they'll screw you. It amazes me that some of these deadbeats will actually haggle over fees that they have no intention of paying.

Consider it a learning experience, and put them on your no-no list. If you accept an assignment from them again, however, I would say stupidity is a definite possibility...

Good luck collecting what you're owed; let us know how you make out.

You're in PA, they're in PA. VERY easy to collect. Fill in and print the Civil Complaint form. For defendants, list Fox, the title company, the lender, the broker, the borrower (most others will tell you to leave them out of it but in my eyes, the magistrate can decide). Type up a nice cover letter asking for assistance in getting this invoice paid so you are not forced to file it with the magistrate who will determine who should pay you since everyone has received the benefit of your services. Leave a VERY small time frame ... if I faxed it today, I'd be filing it Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. Be certain to mention that the check should be overnighted to be sure it's here on time. Fax or e-mail it to every defendant. I'm guessing your check will be received prior to Tuesday a.m. Do this in your own jurisdiction.
