Identity theft within families

This article doesn't apply directly to notarizations, but I thought was a good exampleof why we need to be so careful about checking ID. If parents will take out credit cards in their children's names and leave it up to them to deal with the consequences, who knows what else they will do. (This is also why I pay close attention to things like "Jr.", "Sr." and "III", etc.)

Now that's a switch. I thought it was kids who used their parents name to get credit cards.

Yes. That was true until those kids grew up and

became parents themselves. That's who we're dealing with now. Different set of morals. (Not for all. I'm generalizing here.)
