Is there a notary in Mississippi named . . . Equity National

told me today that payment was sent to a Barbara Miller in Mississippi. Not sure that I'm believing it. How can I querry (on NOt Rot) the whole state of MS to find out if there is someone by this name? Lots of excuses for not paying me thus far.

I'm not understanding this one, because I have never had a problem not getting prompt payment from Equity National. Also, if they sent a check to someone else, that's not your problem. IMO, tt's their mistake & they need to cut you a check. Obviously, they have more than one notary in their database with the same name.

I agree. They are a good company. Tell them you''ve invoiced them and that you would like to get paid. They'll work out the kink in their system. I, too, have a notary with a similar name to mine. I've received her checks and I know she's received mine.

I received a check that wasn't mine once. I immediately called the co. & alerted them to the error--asked if they wanted it voided & returned or shredded. It's hard to imagine someone keeping a check that they know isn't theirs.

Did you include an invoice in the package, and does your invoice have your name & address on it?

Would the company send a check for a NY/PA signing to a notary in MS??? That's IMO isn't just a mistake...it's total negligence on that employee's part...yeesh

I agree--they didn't pay any attention to the address. Also, make sure you check your 1099 at year end.

There are four Barbara Millers listed on the State of Mississippi website. Maybe you can call them.
