LD Products revisited

I talked to a guy named Dan. They have this 5% coverage rule. He said that their estimate of 6000 pages is based on prinitng out an invoice. If I printed out full pages, each letter size page would be the equivalent of 5 pages. So, how come my last cartridge printed 5065 pages and my printer light went on now at 2777 pages? Generally, when my light come on, it means that I am a few days away from needing a new cartridge.

I would like to know if any of you print in economode or 600 dpi?

He said they would send me a new cartridge today.

I print in 300 dpi

No issues with quality of print.

Re: I print in 300 dpi. Me, too

To change from 600 to 300 dpi: Open Print Window> Properties > Advanced & Click on 'Print Quaility' dpi for Drop down menu. Change from 600 dpi to 300 dpi. I cannot see any difference between 600 and 300 dpi. Whereas 'economode' is visably different.

I don't have 300 dpi as a choice.

My printer only has 600 or economode.

Re: I print in 300 dpi. Me, too

Do you have to change the dpi each time you print?

I set 300 dpi as a default

I no longer remember how I did that--but it is doable. Seems to me that 1 or 2 printers ago, I could use less than 300 dpi--think it was 150---and it still looked GOOD. Economode--for me, anyway-- always is just a too light grey shade.

Thanks for your comments. I have just started to use LD Products and it is nice to know I made a great choice to switch. I was refilling, but needed new cartridges which were $23, but $25 from LD already filled. Will still refill as I have toner still, but it was a cheaper alternative for me to buy 6 and send my other 4 off to their graves. (Oh, lest I get jumped on: they will be recycled, but as far as I'm concerned, they are going to their graves. I am practicing what I preach.)

Just curious...who is your current vendor? www.ldproducts.com , 888-321-2552. They have 10% off coupons all the time. Just ask for their current coupon code.

LD Products vs Monoprice.com

I have checked out both web sites and Monoprice seems to be nearly half the price from what I see on LD Products for the Toner Cart I need for my HP4300. Of course if a cheaper product is not reliable then nothing is saved. Anyone have experience with both companies? Or know of a good source in or near Ohio?

Thank you for your remarks Jim. I can see that she had no problems with Monoprice. My question was... has anyone had experience with BOTH companies. That would be someone who could give me a comparison as to quality, customer service, etc.

Sorry Gary, just clerifying not correcting. I use

ASAPinkjets.com and the customer service is top notch...but it looks like LD products may get my next order since the price is slightly less. Looked at 4300 cartridges for ya Gary and monoprice is much cheaper than ASAP's and LD's...sure wish they carried Lexmark T642 toner.

I would say you are pretty safe ordering from monoprice judging from all the credentials monoprice has on their site including BBB, Trustwave, verisign and trustwave.net

Thanks for the tip. I just checked MonoPrice and couldn't believe how cheap they were. To top it off, they're fairly local to me and I can get overnight shipping for less than any other option! I'm giving them a try. I can buy 4 full-capacity refurbished cartridges for less than what one new OEM cartridge would cost - including shipping!
