LD toner cartridge a dud
This is my second LD high yield cartridge. The first one I bought I got 5065 pages. This one is starting to peter out at less than 2800 pages. That's a big disappointment. I am going to call them on Monday. Anyone else have this problem with them?

What is LD? I'm using Inksmile to purchase remanufactured toners. Also, Lasermonks sells remanufactured toners and has a great customer satisfaction policy--if you think it's underperforming they make it right.
Lasermonks are a monestary that refurbishes toners to earn funds to support their order.
I'm not sure the story on Inksmile but i've been using them a few months and i'm super happy with them. You can follow them on twitter for promocodes and sales up to 20% off--and they always have free ground shipping.

I usually get about 9,000 pages from my LD cartridges - same as I got from HP (the cartridge is rated at 12,000 pages). At around 7,000 pages the printer usually starts to tell me that "toner is low - 600 pages left" or something like that. I can usually get another 2,000 pages out of it at that point.
My LD cartridges have always performed about the same as the HP cartridges - with a $155 savings per cartridge. I agree, you should give them a call. How many pages is your cartridge rated for?

I can't say anything bad about LD's customer service. I have used them for years and they has always given me excellent customer service. I used to refill my own laser cartridges until I discovered LD's remanfactured laser cartridges were way, way easier and about the same price as doing my own messy refills.
I recently had a "shadow printing" problem with a just installed remanufactured laser cartridge. That's where part of the document reprints as a shadow on the page. As I understand it that's because the roller isn't being cleared of toner completely by the wiper blade, sort of like a streaking windshield wiper blade.
I called them and they offered to replaced the defective laser cartridge right away. At the time I asked for a replacement I also ordered three ink-jet cartridges which they shipped with the replacement laser toner cartridge along with a free-to-me return shipping label. It turns out that they picked the wrong ink-jet cartridges and when I called them on that problem they sent me three new ones right away. I didn't have to pay for the three new ones and wait for a credit when I returned the wrong ones like so many other companies will insist on doing.
As to quality, I get at least as many copies out of their remanufactured cartridge as the HP brand. I know this because I have sometimes run out of LD's cartridges and have had to go and buy an HP cartridge until I get my next order from LD.
I have no affiliation with LD other than as a satisfied customer.

I have been using LD cartridges for over a year and they are wonderful. Return the damaged cartridge at your expense and they will replace it at no cost to you. Be sure to enclose a reason why you are returning it. I think they are great.

It's not necessary to return a damaged or defective cartridge at your own expense. They will send a replacement, with a return shipping label for the defective one.

It's rated for 6000 pages.

I buy the "high yield" cartridges. They may or may not be available for your particular printer.

I use all LD products. I've had one or two problems, called them, & they replaced them right away. They have a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

How do you know how many pages you get from a cartridge?
|
Reply by CopperheadVA on 7/11/09 9:49am Msg #295466
Your printer should have an info menu that allows you to print a usage page. I keep those pages in a file, and when I replace my toner cartridge I print a new usage page and calculate how many pages that cartridge printed by comparing the total number of pages printed to the total from the last print-out.

I do not know how to find that menu. My printer is an HP 1320. I keep track the old fashioned way: I keep a little memo book by my printer and write down the num,ber of pages everytime I print something.

I have one of those printers, too. From the on-line HP manual:
http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00208215/c00208215.pdf
Printer information pages Special pages reside within the memory of the printer. These pages help you to diagnose and solve problems with the printer.
Demo page The Demo page contains examples of text and graphics. To print the Demo page, press GO when the printer is ready (Ready light on) and not printing.
Configuration page The Configuration page lists current settings and properties of the printer. It also contains a status log report. You can print a Configuration page from the printer, the embedded web server, or the HP Toolbox.
To print the Configuration page from the printer, press GO for 5 seconds when the printer is in the ready state.
Note You can also get the information contained in the Event log and the Configuration page through the HP Toolbox without printing the pages. See Using the hp toolbox for more information.
Supplies Status page The Supplies Status page provides information about the print cartridge that is installed in the printer, the amount of toner left in the print cartridge, and the number of pages and print jobs that have been processed. The Supplies Status page also provides ordering and recycling information. The Supplies Status page automatically prints when a Configuration page is printed from the control panel.

Thanks for all this great info!
I will sit down and figure this out this weekend. It's too hot to go out (probably about 115 today and tomorrow)!

Print a user page
I can't figure out how to print a user page and can't find an HP Laserjet p2055sn userguide online. Perhaps someone with the same printer can tell me how to.

I just ordered a new drum as well as new cartridges from them. I too have used them for years. While I was talking with their representative, I told him about a cartridge that I had just opened and the package was full of "loose" ink. He said he would send me a replacement and a self-mailing label to send back the "bad" one. They stand by their products 100% and I have been very, very satisfied with them. BYW, I have a brother HL5170ENLT Laser Printer in case you are wondering.

Re: TonerInks.com
This is the best deal I have found anywhere. Like everyone else I am leary of remanufactured cartridges, but I have purchased over 20 cartridges from this company and never had a problem. In fact the cartridges are filled to the top and I usually get about 400 pages after the low toner light comes on. Example: HP 1320 49X toner for $29.90 and shipping is a flat $5.90 regardless of your order. I purchased a rebuilt HP1320 as a backup for $150, including a full toner cartridge. Martin Shahoony is the owner of this small business and he is a block away from NNA headquarters in Chatsworth CA. He is a good guy check him out - tell him Roy sent ya ;-)
