MD Licensed Closing Agents
I just read the thread from the other day regarding everyone's concern over the bond being raised and the threat of legislators wanting to turn MD into an Attorney state for closings. I urge everyone to attend the next hearing on 07/16/09 to get your voices heard. I cannot be there personally but I have already expressed my thoughts to the MDLTA. You can check out their website to what time and where the next hearing will be. PLEASE ATTEND. I wish I could be there... I read the summary of the last hearing on 06/25/09 and it appears the majority of the complaints don't stem from the closing agent, rather the back end. Documents not getting recording in a timely manner or not recorded at all and funding not done properly. I say what does this have to do with the closing agent being a licensed agent or attorney.. absolutely NOTHING.. please get out there so your voices are heard.

As I said in previous post, we need to stand togeather
Forums like NotRot are an excellent to let others know about pending legislation. We were left out of the loop on the first meeting but shame on us if we don't act on a second chance. We sure can't depend on xyz. I wrote them about the pending legislation and didn't even get a reply.

My 9-5 will keep me from attending this meeting. Thursdays are the absolute worst days for me for taking leave. I wonder if there is a way I can draft my thoughts in writing & have it read that day.
