That link isn't working, Regal. From what I understand, Acer isn't a bad system. If I were to be in the market for a new system, it's a brand I would consider for myself.

I have two, (one for my wife). Both very haapy with them.
Suggest that you check you Computer Discount Warehouse. at Cdw.com 800-383-4239 Very knowledge and helpfull sales folks. But the best part is, if you ever have any ?? or problems (including service issures), they do their own customer service. You are talking to Steve or Susie or somesuch in Vernon Hills, IL , and not Chittychittybangbang in Whatdidyousaystan.

It helps to know what the brand of the motherboard is before you buy. Unfortunately, for the most part, you are not told that. My desktop is an ACER, but it is about 4 years old now and I have not had any issues, except for the CD/ DVD writer needing replacement. But it does have a quality motherboard, and that's a biggie. Now ACER, in order to save money, seems to be using smaller power supplies and lesser quality motherboards. In my opinion, I would get another brand. Friends of mine that have bought ACERs recently have had nothing but problems of one kind or another. You can get them cheap, but they are cheaper for a reason, and the cheapest of anything is not always the least expensive.
When it came time to replace my ACER laptop, I changed to DELL. After a rough patch a while back, Dell has gotten it together again (at least for a while). If you are looking to save money, go to the Dell site, choose the outlet store and take a look at the referb units. I bought two laptops from the outlet store online, one for me and one for my daughter and they are performing well.
