Pacific Document Services
I have been on vacation the few days and when I returned I received a letter from my bank and guess whos check bounced?? Pacific Documents Services! Surprise! After waiting months for a check to arrive Paul calls me (after being discussed on this forum) and assured me the check was in the mail..It was in the mail but bounced!! I called his office today and was told he is out of the office until Mon. Of course he is with my and how many other notaries money!!
Paul, I am warning all others on this board and other boards NOT to accept assignments from you! You should be put out of business and I will gladly help spread the word!! Like I told Tanya on the phone I want a certified check overnighted to me with the overdraft fee added!
I am fortunate as this has never happened to me before and it should never happen at all to anyone..Pacific Documents and Paul close your doors and go away!

Yes that's how he described himself when we discussed this a couple of weeks ago.. I did tell him that I would report him on any issues on these site! I usually never complain on this board, but enough is enough from this company!

Since he seems to make a habit of it, too bad there's not some way you can file a complaint against him with the local authorities.
And no Paul - please don't p/m me about this..

Claudine, I'm glad you made this post.
I guess I'd better contact my bank as well. I recently deposited a check from Pacific Document Services. Paul assured me it would clear. He took issue with the rating I gave him in Signing Central.
There may be some sort of recourse. The last I checked writing rubber checks is against the law in some states. I'll give some thought to it and you do the same. Then let's connect via PM.
What really gets me is that he rates his own company in Signing Central to offset the bad ratings by notaries. Unbelievable!

I have to admit Paul,
You do come up with what you think are some clever excuses on why and how your checks bounce. Not getting your wire on time was a new one for me first time I heard it. Now, it's a very old and tired excuse, and more then likely another big fat lie.
Maybe you should pay the people that make you the money FIRST, then give yourself the scraps, instead of the other way around.
You claim to have been in business 15 years, how is it that you can't get a handle on your accounts payable? Are you that slow of a learner? No, I know the answer to that question. It's the people that do the work for you that are slow learners. They believe your phony excuses, they trust you.
Sure, you'll eventually pay with a cashiers/ certified check and they're happy, but you've strung them out for over 90 days. You've been able to use their money for your own use, while they are having trouble paying their own bills due to your criminal acts. That's what they are Paul, criminal. Writing bad checks is against the law Paul, But you know that already too, don't you?

"in business 15 years"
and still bouncing checks? I don't get it. When you a long standing relationship with your bank, most banks will go ahead and pay the check, and charge the writer a hefty NSF fee. Something fishy with him and his bank.

I'm but a lowly notary and avg. person...yet my bank
won't bounce a check but rather pays it and charges me for the courtesy.
In these parts if you are a good customer and don't abuse the checking account your bank covers your checks...even if you aren't a big player.
That's how I knew that Lender's First Choice was taking a dive. It's BS when a company says there was a banking mix up and it's all fixed now. A good customer of a bank with a "mix up" would have no worries. A customer who has already abused and misused the checking account system would.

Good grief...it sounds like I bounce checks all the time. No, I do not. Have never done this but this is what they/my bank tells me. As long as you don't abuse them they will CYA for you.

The solution to his problem is really very simple...
If he would just use his bank's "Bill Pay" system every check he writes would be good from the start and would never bounce because the money to cover the check is immediately deducted from his account by the bank and then the bank issues it's own check and mails the check directly to the NSA.
He can' t write a NSF check through "Bill Pay" because he can only authorize payments up to the amount of money that is in his account as cleared funds. The amount necessary to cover the check is immediately unavailable for any other purpose than to "guarantee" the payment for that check.
It's so simple, and very likely as cheap (if not free) as his current procedure of writing more than one check to cover one bill. If his bank doesn't offer an electronic payment system then he should change banks to one that does.
Then again, an easy and effective solution to a problem that he just can't recognize is a problem (denial??) will be ignored and he very likely will just go on continuing to blame everyone else for his inability to pay his bills.
Sad, very sad.
Unfortunately, he's not unique, which is why we have to continue to publicly name the check bouncers.

Prepare for a pm to let you know how wrong you are.
I should know. I've been corrected.
I got my PM as soon as I'd posted. I used the "blocking" feature.
Said they had many checks that clear each month but some didn't.
My dad used to use a steno tablet. He'd write the balance up at the top of the page and every check that was written would be noted and subtracted from the balance. Crazy how that system worked. He kept a running balance. Never bounced a check in 76 years. Subtraction and addition is a wonderful tool.

Try bouncing 500 checks and see if they still pay them.

Give it up, Paul. You either run your business like a pro,
or hang it up.
We've been in a rescession since 2007, and there have even been headlines about it. I'll go out on a limb here, and venture a guess that the dear and prized SSs that we count on every day, and who are also weathering this storm, do not operate on credit. They make payroll before they take their salary. Every month.
That's not to say that there aren't hick-ups, but the survivors fix and move on, and don't excuse, or make habits of those.
For me, after six years, my 'bad' pile is virtually non-existent. I don't have to chase my money, and in the rare occasion that a receivable is hanging on, a call or faxed statement gets prompt results. NSF? Proper channels - a necessary hassle to resolve.
This is why accepting an assignment from you is a crap shoot - maybe the check will/not clear -which, is just bad business.
