Pacific Document Services-Brentwood
Although Paul Gambs has proven to be a gentlemen and I have had no difficulties with their signing assignments, getting paid by this company is another story altogether. I was given assurances that I would be paid and consequently the check bounced. Paul sent me a cashier's check along with the bank fees to cover the charges. Currently they are behind in paying me for at least 5 signing jobs. Signing agents beware.

Really? A gentleman? Come on! He cheated you and so many
others....You "have had no difficulties with their signing assignments"? Your criteria is VERY different from mine. I consider not being paid a HUGE difficulty. I don't understand your position at all. He needs to be OUT OF BUSINESS. Chek his history here. Why would you accept work from him? This is nothing new. And Paul, no need to reply to me: This is not directed TO you; but rather it is ABOUT you.

Is he affiliated with Vista National? Seems like when I got
a call from V.N. I was told that Pacific Document was some how related.

I am not aware that Paul cheated anyone - he bounces checks, but eventually pays. I think he just has trouble with business management -maybe he has ADD or something.

He has repeatedly shorted notaries and then written NSF
checks. This is cheating a person in my opinion. Finally he makes it right... ADD? I don't think so. I think he is unethical and sneaky. Puts on "Mr Nice Guy" act and people fall for it. I don't. I think it is intentional... He owes people money and always has an "accounting error" or a "delayed wire" or some variation of the same. Dishonest in my book. But then again, I pay what I owe ON TIME, and don't bounce checks...

"I am not aware that Paul cheated anyone - he bounces checks, but eventually pays."
In what universe is bouncing checks NOT cheating somebody? "Eventually" paying someone is cheating them as well.

he shouldn't be in business!

Re: Really? A gentleman? Come on! He cheated you and so many
I have only been on this forum a few times and I've noticed something. There are many of you out there who reply in a critical and caustic manner. If the forum is to be beneficial for all of us, you should curb this tendency because its quite off-putting. With regard to Pacific Doc and Paul Gambs, I stand by what I said...he was a gentlemen and I did eventually get paid. I did in fact read all the posts regarding this company's reputation. What I was looking for was some information regarding the company itself, ie who is the owner, etc. that may help me in the future. As far as the "condition I find myself in", it is because I performed an enormous amount of signings for their company prior to the non payment issue occuring. I am so glad to hear that some of you live such blameless lives that you have never bounced a check accidentally but unfortunately I myself cannot claim that level of perfection. I urge all of you that are trying to one-up each other as to who has the most knowledge to tone it down a bit and truly make this a site that is welcoming. Webmaster, take note. P.S. I am signing off permanently.

Sorry Bravo, but you are being critical and caustic,
It was pointed out to you that this Company has a reputation for this type of deadbeat activity. You ignored it and worked for Pacific Document Services gambling that your check would be good, when many, many, many other Notaries have to chase this guy down to get paid.
Do you realize that just about everyone that works for this guy enables him to stay in business using your and many other Notaries money? You trusted him because he was a " Gentlemen? Have you ever worked for SOX? They have the nicest people working there.Really all sweethearts.
Really, is this how you judge a potential client? I am not being critical or caustic, just realistic and sensible. The smoother the talker, the less they can be trusted, IMHO.

Goodness graciious Bravo, as Cali said...
What universe do you live in? I'm sure that with your attitude you bounce checks all the time but arfe you aware that it is actually against the law to write a check when there are no funds to back it up, it is against the law! He certainly is not a peotential cllient of mine, I will not work for someone who can not manage their business aqnd neither shoujld anyone else. You must be a hobbiest!

IMO if you had done some homework & checked Signing Central & used the orange search button, you might not be in the position you're in. One of the most valuable aspects of membership is being able to get some background on a co. before you get burned--not after.

Basic question, How can you say a signing service is good when you are not paid. A contract is NOT complete until you are paid.

When will we hear another sob story on this site from Paul Gambs explaining that he really is a good guy and makes good on his bad checks? Come on Paul. We're waiting for your posting.
