We all know you to be a long time legitimate Notary and Signing Service….not a wannabe. I also assume that you now have somewhat slowed, and localized your business, so as to take care of more important health matters.

If you EVER need any help here in the Denver area, feel free to call on me. I would be most happy to be of any assistance to you whenever.

My general contention is that if someone trying to do nationwide business doesn’t have the money for a toll free phone/fax, they won’t have the money to pay me.

Les
My policy is, if I get calls for signings outside of Florida I give the title company the notary information and let them work directlySmile So, if I were to get a call for the Denver area I would call you and if you were available I would give your info to the title company and let you work directly with themSmile
I have no desire to go nationwideSmile

I don't have a toll-free voice-number, so we will not call you.

So you guys do nationwide signings, and expect the notary to call you back stating that they have received docs, or confirmed the appointed times with the borrower, or sometimes ask the notary for fax-back a document or two (like in a purchase/sale/investment, or if they are correcting a mistake of their part) and you want them to do it on their dime?

I guess it’s just easier to mass e-mail all the notaries in an area that you have a signing, and the let the notaries respond? The first, cheapest, responding gets the job?

Yeah….. good idea don’t bother calling me, and don’t bother e-mailing either.

But, Les you're missing out on $85.00 e-doc jobs from OP...

Are you going to feel slighted? I doubt it!

Re: But, Les you're missing out on $85.00 e-doc jobs from OP...

Not a bit.

My original post was more directed toward, people/notaries trying to do SS business ‘on the side’, or to ‘farm out’ business. And because if the many recent ‘Denise’ posts.

I believe Ocean Pacific to be an actual Signing Company, that’s been in business for some years. But, how ‘professional’ does it look for a company doing business across the nation NOT to have a toll free number? If they can’t afford $10.99 a month extra for a toll free number, they can’t afford to pay their notaries very much. JMO

OT (a little) LES!!!!

Les. I don't kow who you have toll free service with, but not only am I charged a monthly fee just to have the number, but I also pay about 6 cents per minute through Verizon.
If you can send me to a company that charges a flat $11 month, I'd be glad to hear it!

Re: $2.00/month, 6.9cents per minute

Philip, if you go to their site, only SOME NUMBERS Quaify for the $2/month.
MINE (Becasue they consider it a vanity number = premium number) would be $25/month + per minute fees.

Everyone knows that vanity can be costly.

Carly Simon sang it and now you're living it. Oh well.

Re: OT (a little) LES!!!!

Here, Qwest. $10.99 a month and I think 4 cents a minute. ( I think that there are various 'plans' depending on your particular service)
My point being the 'extra' cost is nominal. Probably less that 5% of what a SS spends on stamps. JMO.

I require a physical address from any company I work for. I have received confirmations without any information on the company and I call them back requesting their mailing address, phone numbers, and information on their company. (I also check them out here and on a few other sites as well as Google). If they don't want to give me their address and simply ask me to e-mail their invoice then I decline the job. I could be missing out on working with a great company. On the other hand, I could very well be saving myself a lot of trouble trying to collect from someone who has no intention of paying for the job I just did for them.

Re: SS Wannabes - I agree completely Les, my other pet

peeve is drop boxes for mail at a postal box rental place. it seems that a lot use the drop boxes to avoid having a real address. It is fairly easy to check there are several websites that list drop box addresses.

Re: SS Wannabes - I agree completely Les, my other pet

I don’t mind PO boxes, (I’ve used one myself for years. However I also have a physical address for courier stuff.), but I like to see a physical address too. I’m not talking about someone that is really in business, I’m talking about someone that used to manage a nail salon, that took a ‘how to get rich’ notary course, tried it, and decided that there was more money for less work in becoming a SS. Or just a thief that starts out with the intention to defraud. You know the type….. Just a cell phone….and a free email address. Talk about ‘red flags’ that’s it IMO.

Les I agree. No information, no appointment. I want to know who you are, where you are and how to find you. End of that subject.

For non-believers. If you don't get paid how are you going find the sneaky buggers. Title/Escrow companies will not pay you also after paying the person that hired you.

Re: Hi ya Teddy, how's biz??

Hey! Charles how you doing buddy. It's been pretty busy here. I'm thinking that we will all be getting more biz in August. Working my little hoovies to the quick. Native American items, change hat, instant notary. lol

Sorry I have not been in better contact with my "buds" but it's been a little nut's here. Gosh! If only the tornados would give us break and warm-up again Smile

You take care of yourself Charles. Always a pleasure to hear from you my friend.
