Some light instead of heat
The last thing I would want is government involvement in another area of society. Especially health care because then they would have a reason to control or ban all forms of alternative medicine, vitamins etc. But on the other hand, I had this discussion with my sister recently, who works for a major grocery chain and has always had full health coverage there. "Would YOU want to be like Canada and wait eight weeks to get an operation?" she said to me. I replied "I've needed an operation for a condition for over five years now. I can't get it because I can't afford to pay for the operation myself, can't afford individual health insurance, and even if I could they would scream "Preexisting Condition" and wouldn't cover it anyway. So yes, I would LOVE to "wait" eight weeks for an operation I badly need for something that gets worse year by year. Yes I hate the idea of government involvement, but for those of us that don't work for a major corporation, or have a spouse that does, the alternative is - nothing!
Ok, light your flame throwers...

I don't know how I managed to do it, but this obviously was posted in the wrong forum: It should have been in Just Politics. My apologies.
In the hope that my error won't be compounded, I have posted it in Just Politics and ask that anyone who wants to respond please post there.
