Stewart Title
Remember when Stewart Title solicited us last year collected $$ to do a background check? Well I've never heard from them until this week. A signing company called me to do a job for them. If they were going to use a signing company (and did use a good one) why collect our info and $$ from us?

Exactly Ilene. If we paid for a diffrent background check requested by a bunch of diffrent companies. It would cost you a young fortune.
JMO One is plenty, if that doesn't work for a company they will just have to call someone else.
Let's think about this, we have a notary license that the state issues and does a background check on you. We also have E&O insurance. I could be wrong but you would not be able to get your license or insurance if you were wanted in all 50 states.
JMO People just never stop thinking of way's to "tap" your wallet. Buyer beware!
Everyone have a great weekend

The TX SOS Notary office has 2 inspectors to handle background check of about 125,000 notary commissions and renewals per yr. Also the investigate complaints about notaries. How many background checks do you think they are able to do? The statement that only one bkgd ck is should be needed is not a fair statement. Each company who wants a bkgd ck may be looking at different things that are in those checks. That's a reason why a bkgd ck from a through a third party is important.

Because Stewart Title is one of the ones that is on board with NNA.

Well then why charge us for background check if they are in bed with NNA?

Because they need you more than they need the NNA's bgc...and that's their way around it for those bright people who refuse to go thru NNA.
