brother 8220 is printing "shadow" print

I'm printing docs and I see on some pages have shadow print on them. I just changed the drum and cartridge. any suggestions?

I would call Brother tech support. They've been very helpful to me. I had an issue & found it was corrected by "cleaning the corona wire on the drum" (slide it back & forth 30 times). Apparently toner builds up--but you said you just changed the drum. I'd call them.

I just finished talking to someone about just this same problem. They suggested that I shake the cartridge, redistributing the toner to see if that would work. I tried it, printed a couple of pages and no longer have the problem. Try this also - making sure all the innards of the machine are clean also.

Then, call tech support if not work for you.

It could be bad toner..or a bad drum - since you just replaced both, it's a toss up. Try another toner first...
