doc recieved late

I have been trying to get docs for a signing for 2 days..they changed appointment yesterday and still have not sent me the docs for today and the signing is in 3 hours. I kinda think i should tell them to find someone else.. any suggestions

Tamatha, that depends on your schedule. If things are tight today and you can't wait around for docs, your best bet is to call the company and ask them to find someone else. If you're flexible, then it does you no harm to wait.

Docs 2 hours or less prior to appointment is pretty much the norm... except when they're an hour after the appt. time. Rarely--tho' it does happen--do you get them the night before or 4 hours before. If it's REALLY important to you, when accepting the signing, give them a 'drop dead' time. May cost you some business--or not.

Very true Lee. When I call the borrowers to confirm the appointment, I always tell them (if I don't have the docs), that unless there's a problem with the documents being delivered to me, I'll be on time.

If I don't have docs the day before a closing, I generally

send a email that morning giving them my deadline for receipt. And then I either get them or not - but either way I never let late docs inconvenience me.

And even when the appointment is in my office - if they don't have them to me 90 minutes ahead of time I am not going to do it.

That's frustrating! If you don't have anything else lined up, I would say wait for the docs.

Good Luck!

If you have another job scheduled, you should go ahead to that appointment, and see if you can do this one later in the day or evening. Don't let this cause you to be late for a signing that is ready with docs in hand. But I wouldn't just cancel it, either. If I have any flexibility in my schedule, and can squeeze it in later in the day, I'll try to work it out. These things happen sometimes.

Generally I don't consider docs late unless <2 hrs.

However, if I know I have other appts scheduled & need docs sooner I will call them immed or upon accepting assignment & let them know I need docs by (insert time) & that if I do not have them by that time I cannot gtd appt time/coverage.
