I did some checking on Google Maps recently. 5 companies listed at that address, including AA & Closing Quest. It sounds like it's all a scam, because these companies apparently don't pay.
If it were me I would use that info to go the the state of TN to report them.

Go after them like a bear. Glad you are reporting them. Five diffrent companies at the same address what a bunch of crooks.
FYI The newest scam that I have encountered. Get a call agree on fee they send the confirmation. The confirmation has just a phone number, no company address or fax number just email addresses. Researched the number they called from (unlisted) check phone number on the confirmation (unlisted.) Call the phone number on the confirmation a voice mail gives a different company name then the company name on the confirmation. Neither company name is listed anywhere.
Emailed them asking for their address, fax number and more information about "Who they are" or if they have website. No responce. They were not closed for the day just didn't respond.
I lucked out on that one. Just called both numbers and left voice mail cancelled the signing.
So be careful when you get confirmations. Read them right away and make sure you have all the company information address, fax, emergency contact phone. Do a search to make sure they are a real company. Looks like the crooks are crawling out of the woodwork again.

Not necessarily. I know nothing about these companies that are being discussed but different names at the same address is not necessarily something underhanded. I've got quite a few clients that do this. They have a title company and as they acquire new brokers an aba is set up and they create a new name for this. Phone number and address are the same as the "base" company.

Wait a minute...
I know you are in a serious situation and I hate not getting paid too. I finally got a check from a company that I did a signing for LAST JUNE! And hurray for going after them!
But I had to read all this twice. And I am suppressing a grin (really). AA Notary of CA is complaining about AA Notary of TN? I mean really, isn't there just a LITTLE irony here???

I did a closing for him on 4/10/09 and paid 6/16/09. The name on the Check was Always Accurate Loan Processing DBA AALP. The address on the check was 25 Century Blvd., #405, Nashville, TN 37214.
