pajamas

I went to a rather late (10:30) closing last night wearing a nice summer dress and espadrilles. The female borrower said, "You're a big change from the last notary we had. She came in pajamas and slippers." "Really?!" I said. She nodded. I've had borrowers at the table in pajamas, but this is the first time I've heard of a notary in pajamas.

I've actually seen a notary show up in jeans (from the 80's) and a t-shirt, but never pajamas. That's ridiculous. Since when are pajamas "business attire"?

Unbelievable! One more example of why we have to work so hard to establish credibility for the profession.

I recently closed a loan for a couple that refinanced a year ago. They said the previous signing agent came in a T-shirt, short shorts, flip-flops and smelled strongly of smoke.

I would say, whoever hired these "clueless" SA's, got what they paid for.

I did a last minute closing a couple weeks ago, and they said I had to go "now" borrower had the docs, and they were leaving for the airport in 45 minutes. I didn't have time to go and change. I was at the barn when the TC called, I was grooming one of the horses, I was covered in white horse hair, hay, and dirt. Borrowers laughed when I came to the door, I explained that it was Sat, and I thought I was done for the day, and I was told I had to be there in a few minutes or it was a bust. Wife had grown up on a horse farm and knew exactly where I'd been prior to the call. I thought they were going to miss the plain because she asked so many horse questions.
