21st Century Legal Services Loan Modification

I already did a search, but I'm a bit confused. These loan modifications are somehow unethical? I didn't like what I saw on the internet and got mixed messages in my search. I don't want to facilitate a "service" that takes advantage of a borrower.

Can someone explain to me what these people do and what the checks are for that I am picking up? I don't even understand the assignment, she said it was an application and that I was picking up modification paperwork...then on my confirmation it says I have to pick up a check or checks. I've done a modification before, but it was truly just a BANK modification, this sounds different. I've also done applications, but only for reverse mortgages.

First, it's not a Loan Mod...it's an Application for one. The checks got to the loan mod. co.
with absolutely no guarantee of anything--except they'll cash the checks.
Second, check out Ripoff Report.
Third, (Thanks, Susan Fischer) remember that these people may be their clients, but they are your neighbors.

Okay, now I know. Check this out: <' target='_blank'>http://www.consumeraffairs.com/finance/21st_century_legal.html>

I love this part,

"Even so, after all my misgivings, I agreed to talk to a notary he was sending over. I thought that she or he would be able to tell me more about the program that Michael didn't. After mulling it over, I canceled my appointment. I just don't like being rushed into anything."

Horrible what they are doing to these people, there are two pages of complaints on this site, most claiming that they took their money and then wouldn't answer the phone...pigs. I'm not being a part of this!

That is why I think participation in the forums is so important. There are many notaries out there that are clueless about this kind of scam. The information shared here empowers us all. Thanks NotRot.

As stated by someone a bit ago, it is very true that the 21st Century clients are neighbors of ours.

21st had contacted me for a loan mod (which I turned down due to other obligations), but came to find out that it was one of my SIL's best friends.

Good thing I turned it down cause I didn't get a chance to research until after I got home. Thanks so much NotRot!!
