24-7 Nationwide Notary Network
FYI: Only done a handful of signings for 24-7 -- although they have *always* paid late (60+ days) they have always paid in full, but only after phone calls and demand letters... until now.
Miscommunication between borrowers, lender, and title led to refusal to sign on recent signing (after 2+ hours with borrowers in an effort to do MY part). Subsequent signing with same borrower led to completed signing.
After several phone calls and emails inquiring about payment, payment was received; partial for first refusal, full for second successful signing. Contacted David Demaree via email. Ignored. Reached him via phone when he cited 24-7's "refusal" fee. This "refusal" fee is not outlined in detail on any correspondence or contract. Additionally, I have an automatic "policy" note sent to sender upon receipt of confirmation which states my policy of being paid full fee despite refusals, no-signs, or no-funds which each agency has the option to decline and re-assign another notary.
Will not accept future signings and asked to be removed from call list. Have issued demand letter and contacted BBB. Will follow up by notifying lender, title, and borrower. Will post update should they show good faith and pay remaining balance.

I don't know why your experience with this co. would be different--it is the way they do business. I've done some work for them over the past few months. They pay a lower fee, claim to pay at 45 days (usually 60). It's interesting, because they want to improve their rating in SC, but don't show the "good faith" they promise. To accept work or not is an individual decision--as long as you know the score.

<<<.....they have always paid in full, but only after phone calls and demand letters... until now.>>>
You chose to take additional signings from them KNOWING you'd have to chase after your money with demand letters and phone calls? YIKES! You should not complain when you choose to work for deadbeats.

Good faith is shown by meeting a contractual obligation - on time, 97% of the time. Their track record is to NOT pay until hounded.

"YIKES! You should not complain when you choose to work for deadbeats."
Seriously. It never ceases to amuse me to no end when people think that because they eventually get paid by a deadbeat company, that somehow makes them an acceptable company to work for again in the future instead of quitting while they're ahead and considering themselves lucky to have been able to squeeze payment out of them.
And then the cherry on top - they come on this board to warn us about it, even though they completely ignored the warnings themselves.
