Attorney phone signings. Did a signing recently where

the PIQ was located in an "Attorney Only State.
We were supposed to call the atty from the table.
Atty called me earlier in the day to confirm time and to make sure that
I had her Ph #. Chatted for a few minutes. Told me to make sure that they
had a witness for the mortgae besides me.
After we had signed all of the dox, bwr called the atty and told her
that we were finished. Atty asked bwr if they had any ?? and if mtg had been witnessed.
Bwr told her "No questions, Bob pointed out all of the info that we needed and our neighbor
came in to witness.
She then told atty. "This will be the easiest money that you make all day" She was
off the phone in about one minute.
Nice if they all went like that.
Bwr was an airline pilot. Got him to admit that no cell phones on planes had
nothing to do with safety, and that they would not interfere with anything,
As I suspected, just a reason to get passengers to pay the $$ per minute
airphone charges. Plus , I guess, it also avoids annoying loud talkers.
People, me included, tend to speak more loudly when using a cell.

I think I would stop flying ....

if there was cell phone use allowed on flights. I can't stand it when someone talks on one in a restaurant, I just think it's rude. I put mine on vibrate and then go outside if I get a call that I want to take. Can you imagine 100 or so people all talking on their cell phones in flight??

cell phones during signing...

ugh...I know what you mean...had a closing, easy refi, but the BO was on the phone, THE WHOLE TIME, conducting business, while he was signing the paperwork...signed in places he shouldn't, made the docs a mess...was so aggravating!

some people have forgetton the basics of common courtesy...

All this time I thought that the reason people talked louder

was 'cause they were calling long distance Wink

Not long distance; it is, to me, another way for them to 'show their importance' to the world at large. JMO

Just kidding Juls, you know, like if the call is next door

you can speak softly but if its across the country you shout to make sure your voice can be heard Smile

Kind of like communicating with someone who does not

speak English.
Talk loudly and ennunciate clearly.
" DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORDS THAT ARE COMMING OUT OF MY MOUTH????"
