I have a Blackberry Storm, but the new Iphone blows it out of the water. You can get more apps with Iphone. I stay with Verizon because the coverage is better.
Plus look into cost of plans.. My Verizon bill almost double with 2 Storms (hit with alot of extra fees and you need to cancel alot of features within 30 days or get hit with them too)
old phone bill 700 minutes -2 phones 100/month 2 Blackberry storms 700 min 200/month

I'm using Blackberry Storm
and I'm happy with it. However, if you want to use your phone for a lot of different applications (music, pandora/radio, watching videos, etc.) I would suggest you go with the iphone. I had dinner with someone this weekend who has the iphone and I was very impressed by all the features. But if you aren't into all of those gadgits and gizmo's the Storm may do just fine. It has many of these same apps but (in my opinion) not at the same level as the iphone.

I'm using the Blackberry Storm also. I don't know that much about Iphones. Can they be used as a modem (I have ability to connect my laptop to the BS--extra charge, of course).

Many service providers have Blackberry phones. Only AT&T offers the iPhone.
The first consideration should be regarding your existing contract. If you are still under contract what will the termination fee be if you switch services?
If you are out of contract and can switch will AT&T service work appropriately in your coverage area? If not, then the iPhone is out, period. Then you can select one of several different Blackberry models from a carrier that has the best service in your area.
iPhones are great devices but generally the service contracts are more expensive than the other carrier's smartphones. If you are going to buy an iPhone, I would suggest the original 3G for $99 is a bargain unless you need the latest fancy stuff with the just released 3G S.

I have the 2nd generation iPhone and love it. I like it because of the GPS and I have found a great app that will synch your Google contacts and Google calendar with the iPhone since I am not a Mac user and not the biggest fan of MS, either. Also, the apps are terrific. I have one for logging mileage, another for finding businesses at my current location, and one to help me find my car in a parking lot/garage. All good things for me. I also like the eReader for those times that I find myself waiting for someone/something, I can just "open" a book and read while I wait.

Check out the palm pre
I have the palm pre and love it. My friends who have the Iphone have horrible phone service with At&t. I have the palm pre with sprint - unlimited package for $99. The Pre blows away the blackberry and give the iphone some stiff competition.

Re: Check out the palm pre
Does it have modem and GPS capabilities? Also, which carrier offers it? Thanks.

Blackberry Curve for me...
...because I have trouble using the touch screen on the iPhone - I have tried my husband's several times. The problem is my fingernails get in the way of using the pads on my fingers to get the correct touch connection. I didn't have that problem with my Treo. My fingernails really aren't very long, but they do extend beyond the end of my fingers. You might want to try an iPhone to see if the touch system works for you.
