Busy week

Is it me or was there a spike in closings last week! I would like to know how your week was?. I was as busy as if it were the EOM!

Same for me in Alabama.

Monday was quiet but after that things got very busy. It wasn't my busiest week but it definitely felt like a EOM. I spoke with one other AL notary and she was just as busy.

Re: Same for me in Cent. FL

I've been busier than forever it seems, leading me to believe that our section of the country is up on rotation. I've turned down a lot, lowballers, but taken more that meet my fee readily. Encouraging...but still not counting my chickens before they hatch. Nor are all my eggs in one basket....

Aren't you the easy one to please - ROFL!

This week is already stressful in my personal life so poking fun at you is my big laugh. Sorry (not really!) teeheehee...I needed this.

I thinks it a pipeline from the low interest rates. I'm told the phones have stopped ringing in the mortgage offices since the rates went up. Here we go again, good luck

Busy week - not

I had just two signings last week. One of them was rescheduled from the week before for the third time. The other was just a quick loan mod. Both were for slightly less that I usually accept. The only one I have this week so far is an hour from now and from my last call to the borrower looks like it is not going to happen. No other calls. Rates are up and the gravy train has left the station? Without the gravy? I'm glad others are still busy!

It depends on where you are and who/what you know.

There cannot be any consistency between different locations around the country or between individual NSAs within a specific area.

IMHO the bragging or complaining provides little useful information to the rest of us who are doing neither. How my business is doing (or not doing) at a particular moment in time is not something I would ever consider publicizing on an open forum.

What would be useful is to send me a PM with a detailed list of your busiest and promptly paying clients that are doing business in my service area.

No flames please. I was not really expecting that anyone would be so foolish as to do so. I certainly would not. It's just a point that in this business, like so many others, Macy's doesn't tell Gimbel's anything.

This is supposed to be "Notary Talk"?

A place where we can chat, lament, celebrate, praise, pass along, etc? No?

Re: This is supposed to be "Notary Talk"?

Bragging or complaining about current business provides no useful information to others given the vast differences between NSAs and their respective businesses. Chatty? Yes. Useful? Not in my opinion.

David, I'm glad you commented about how

business being good in one area does not mean it's good in other areas of the US. It took me awhile to figure out that it doesn't matter very much how slow or busy a notary is in "Timbuktu" because I'm in Northern Alabama. The volume of business I see seems to be very different from other states. I'm not saying that it is better or worse - just different. I guess there are so many different factors to consider.

By the way, I'm not criticizing the person who posted the original question. I don't mind sharing my experiences. It just took me several months to realize that although we share the same job title, our individual business experiences are very unique.

That's my point...

>>It just took me several months to realize that although we share the same job title, our individual business experiences are very unique.<<

Which is why it's not very informational to say that a particular NSA in a particular state had a "good business experience" within a certain time frame. What one NSA may be doing in their business activities as opposed to what every other not so situated NSA is doing is really irrelevant. He/she has no effect on my situation, good or bad. It's like phases of the moon, there is nothing I can do to change them.

Last week was okay, this week had only one phone call so far - wanted to give me $75 for Edoc signing, said my fee is $XXX - no call back. Oh well.
