FedEx wants my TC's FedEx account numbers
Ordered supplies over the weekend, 100 legal envelopes and sleeves. Got a call yesterday and and the person said that according to my account I do not ship enough to recieve that quantity of supplies. I told him that I ship on other account numbers, that I am returning documents to title companies. He wanted the account numbers of the title companies. My reply: "You come on down here and you can go through my confirmations and find the numbers yourself. I can do 50 shipments on 50 different account numbers and I don't have the time to pull them for you." End of conversation, he hung up. Havn't recieved my supplies yet, waiting to see what happens.

I have had the same conversation with FedEx about getting supplies. Mine is worst in that I do NOT have a FedEx acount #, Nor do I want one. It is even had to get supplies from a FedEx Express office (I not talking about Kinkos/FedEx office locations) Many times the customer service person at the counter doesn't even understand when you ask for "legal size" overnight envelopes. Are any Title cos or signing services monitoring this?

I have a FedEx account number but I only ship on it about 2 times a year. Apparently they don't feel I should need supplies.

Same thing happened to me today
At least the rep was nice and we agreed fedex mgmt needs to make a category for folks like us.
I told him to relay to corporate that I was not wallpapering my home with fedex supplies.

Go get your supplies from a box. They are usually well supplied.

As far as getting supplies from the box, there are none that stock legal sized in my area. The FedEx Hub and the FedEx Kinko's have told us that they will not keep legal size anymore either. In this area, we had to open an account in order to get them. I rec'd my first order of 50 without a hitch. I sure hope it continues that way. I will not be shipping on my own account number. We will see..... Very frustrating considering they are making a lot of money off the various title companies that supply us with their account numbers.

I used to do that... or I'd pick them up from the FedEx Center here in town. The woman at the FedEx center would get so pissy with me. She'd say, "You know you can order these...I'm only going to give you 2 at a time."
I gave up and just ordered them online through my account. Now I have way too many... but at least I know where to find supplies!

These days I no longer ask for a pick up and take to drop box. Every time I get a receipt, I ask for 5 more ship pkgs. Some give me more, some stay stingy. Now I have a huge supply.
These clerks, both places, act like it is coming out of their pocket so I asked about that and the response was that the respective stores charge them/credit them in some fashion, akin to a franchise where central office orders for everyone, then cost is spread based upon usage. Everyone wants to keep their costs down which can be accomplished if one orders direct from the shipping company. But, every so often, I get lucky....like my sutrdy pacs few days ago. It's a crap shoot.

Just had a very similar conversation with UPS. He sent out less than I asked for (about 3 weeks ago). Now I need more.

They wanted to put me on "Auto Ship"
I explained that I could not determine how many I would use in a month because at least half of my customer require that I use UPS! So far no problems since then.

I always drop at the hub. I order the 50 they'll ship me, and then I'll get a dozen a time at the hub. There was actually a brief period of time that Legal sized envelopes COULD NOT be ordered, and I couldn't get them at the hub either. Gladly, they brought them back on the order list. I totally HATE using UPS here. They used to be GREAT at the UPS hub, but now they are only open for 1 1/2 hours in the evening. I think it's 5:00 - 6:30, but wouldn't swear to that. I just tell anyone that contact me that if they're planning on shipping UPS to add another day, unless it's an early closing. I can get on FedX til 6:45, and sometimes later.
Keep those 50 packs coming, and pick up a dozen at the hub every now and then. Unless you're doing a ton of signings, that should keep you ready to go.
I have a FedX account, but I've never used it to ship anything at all...and really don't plan to. LOL

I dislike shipping with FedEx because the closest FedEx/Kinko's office is 25 miles from me. The drop boxes within a 10 mile radius have absolutely no legal size envelopes - ever. I've spoken to the FedEx driver and he'll bring me a supply next time he delivers to me, but that could be a few weeks yet. Worse yet is that the time docs are picked up is 2:30 in the afternoon so even a 4 closing won't go the same day.
When I can ship UPS (and I've already talked to some of my clients about changing to UPS), I can drop off packages as late as 6 pm M - F, get all the supplies I need and everything can be taken care of.

FedEx, UPS, it's ALL relative to where you live and what kind of service you get. UPS sucks here, but I used to recommend that EVERY later in the evening closing be shipped UPS. Why? Because I could get that packet on the truck up to about 9:30 p.m.. NOW UPS is CLOSED at the terminal at about 6:00 p.m.. Nobody home, no lights are on. Things change, but no matter what the changes are here, it's ALL ABOUT what is best for YOU where YOU ARE.
I'm 3 miles from the FedEx hub, and can drop there until 6:45, and sometimes later. I used to be able to drop there til about 9:00 also, but that has changed too. You just recommend the shipper that you feel is best for YOU, and ask them to give you a label or an account number for that shipper. IF you have no chance of getting it out that day, doesn't really matter to me anyway. Any courier will work. I LIKE to have docs ship the same day I get them signed. I want them there in the morning. I want to look online right after I drop them and email the company the screen shot that they have been picked up, they're on their way, and I AM DONE! My job has finished when the courier has scanned them in as received. After that, I don't worry about any of it.

Before I had an account I used a client's acct. # to order to supplies. Since the supplies are free I wasn't compromising their acct.

I can tell you , neither FedEx or UPS charges for supplies. It's call "lazy" on the part of sale reps, drivers who are suppose to keep the drop boxes stocked. And "don't give a damn about thier brand-FedEx/UPS as far as store fronts are cocerned. A solution would be that the escrow companies should order them for us thru thier account #. I can promise you that if they call thier account rep and ask to have you put an a drop ship list for them or they will go to the other OnNight service It will get done.
Oh! Suggestion to XYZ-a new benefit for membership, they set up a order service for these supplies from the shipping services.------SURE--------NOT!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!
