Field Inspection Company list SCAM*****WARNING
For those that don't know, I offer a field inspection company list. This post is not an advertisement for the list, but a warning about a scam I've been made aware of.
This week alone, I have received four emails and three phone calls from inspectors asking me if I am for real and if my list is real. All seven of the inspectors, some new some experienced, purchased a list from a website and did not receive the list. Sure, it's only $9.97, but it's a rip off all the same. With all the new notaries joining this forum lately, I wanted to post this warning along with a few tips on how to not get ripped off online.
Tip #1
If there is no way to contact the proprietor, this is not a good sign. If there is a problem with your order you have no way to contact the seller and this is usually done by design.
Tip #2
Pay for your order using paypal or any other online bank. Not only will this secure your credit card information it may secure your purchase with a buyer protection plan.
Tip #3
Do your research. Check out the company or person you are buying from...google is your friend.
I have been getting calls like the ones I received this week for about a year, but I have never received seven in one week. Don't waste your money!
