RM fraud

In the local newspaper yesterday there was an article about a couple here locally who somehow got money from a reverse mortgage by fraudulently signing a senior citizen's name to a reverse mortgage. Can't figure how they did that unless they somehow used a POA. Would love to know who the notary was.

That's too bad. I think that's one of the greatest concerns with RM's--that someone is coercing or there to take the money. I hope they catch them & prosecute.

Sometimes it goes the other way...selfish children who have great influence over their elderly parents and would rather see them eat cat food or dog food than see their inheritance go down the drain.
That is definitely elder abuse in my book.

I have a friend here who does only reverse mortgages and she experiences lot of that.
