SOX (sign on the x) Or "Check Please!"

SOX or Sign On The X, or SOXUSA is 3 in 1oil slickness. Take a look at this post on American Notary mostly about their terrible payment history.

Get this... Let's say you do a signing on the first of the month.. In order to get paid for the assignment you must WAIT UNTIL their invoice window which is the first 5 days of the following month! Miss the "invoice window" "you will not be paid"! Then their payment schedule is not until the middle of the following month! That means we don't get paid for about SEVENTY five (75) days from the date of the signing.

I don't know about you but I want to be able to send out an invoice the same day I return the docs and get paid within 30 to 60 days. I do not need a signing service that puts the burden of invoicing them 30 days after I perform the job. SOX S**ks

I refuse to do anything for them and, based on my experience with them and their history on following link, they shouldn't even get 1.5 stars on Notary Rotary ratings.

Most of us already know to avoid them...

In fact, I have their numbers entered under and entry in my blackberry that says, "Deadbeats" and I set it so that my blackberry just pretends to be turned off when they call and it goes straight to voicemail. I never even know if they call me. I'm fine with that. I won't touch them.

Somebody must still be working for them or they would be defunct by now. I never did accept one of their jobs and they haven't called in at least 4 years. So, how in the world do they stay in business (other than by keeping the money earned by the notaries?)

<<<So, how in the world do they stay in business (other than by keeping the money earned by the notaries?)>>>

I believe SOX preys on newbies and the unsuspecting. When Notaries get stiffed for payment, they need to start going after the TC's/Escrow companies that contract with deadbeat SS's and over time, they'll be put out of business. See post 293484

If the TC/Escrow uses the "we paid the SS so this is not our problem", and the TC/Escrow refuses to be accountable for "sleeping with the devil" , then the Insurance Commissioner who regulates TC's and the Commissioner of Corporations who regulates Escrow companies, needs to be alerted to this.
