Copies of signed docs

I was just wondering if anybody has ever been requested to send the original signed docs along with a copy back to the TC. I was hired by TC for this one and in all my years of doing signings I have never been requested to send original signed docs along with a copy to them. Has anybody else been requested to do this? Thanks!

I'm confused (easy to do today)

They want you to have the originals AND a copy signed, notarized & returned...in addition to the copy left with the Bs? Or--they want you to have the original signed, notarized and then you make a copy of the whole package & both get returned?
Did their copy machine break? Or the copy person is gone for the weekend or are they just whacked out?

Re: I'm confused (easy to do today)

Once, I had a title company request that I make a copy after the documents were signed, and split the originals and copies in a particular order, with one set going to the title company and the other to the lender. I'm sure many signing agents complained (more like b**ched and moaned). After a couple months, the company changed the way they did things and only the signed originals needed to be returned to the title company. No more copying and spliting.

I remember 2 companies doing that Paul, glad they quit but

it was not more than 5 or 10 pages...no big deal, but would much rather sign and ship.

I still split packages - several a week - I no longer copy though - I print and have the borrowers sign 2 copies and then stamp one of them copy.

Never had them ask me to do that, Christine, and just closed another one at noon today for them. In fact, I closed it with Santa Claus! LOL Well, he was 82 years old and he really would make a SUPER Santa. Definitely had the look with the beard and appearance. Really nice fella.

To clarify they want me to 1) Print the docs to get signed. 2) Print copy for borrower. 3) When I get home photocopy the signed docs to send back with the originals. Sorry if the original post was confusing. I just wrote back and said I would need an additional fee to stop at Kinkos on the way home to make them a copy of the signed docs. Like someone posted "don't they have a copier"? I personally don't have a fancy high speed copier at home so I would stop at Kinkos on the way home. I don't mind doing this I just thought it was a strange request since they can make a copy when they get the docs back.
