Does anybody know

how much more work it is to scan pdf files by paper size as opposed to all legal? A client of mine just put a newbie on as a processor and where I always got docs that printed out properly by size, now I get them all on legal paper. This means that someone must cut them down to size when they get them back or pay .50 cents more per page when the record them.
They don't even take the additional cost of legal paper into consideration....but why should they when we are paying for it. So how much more work can it be?

It depends upon the equipment being used. Some of the older model scanners cannot automatically pick up on the paper size difference. If that is the case, the program needs to be changed manually each time the paper size changes. That can add a great deal of time (15 to 20 minutes) to the process. Many of the new scanners can feed two sided, multi sized paper through and automatically detect changes easily.
