Email Notifications of Closings

I am being notified about closings via email more and more. They usually come from signing companies and the stated fees are lower than what I charge so I haven't accepted any yet. On Friday I received two from two different companies. Today I received one from yet another company. Anyone else experiencing this?

Click 'delete'...end of problem. Now I have to admit that I 'chased' 2 of 'em before deciding that 'delete' was the best way to go. Besides the 'fee' (or lack of same) one was in another state and the other was in my state--just about as far away from my location as it's possible to get and still be in my state.

yes - annoying isn't it? So when I say I

will do for more, seldom hear back. That's ok - but it bothers me that others are doing so cheaply. Especially liked when one did accept my fee, had a problem, called, got squared away. They were ever so grateful, said I would be their 'go to' in the area, and I get the emails still. Too impersonal for me.

work for me, obviously works for some.

Re: Email Notifications-- Girls, girls, girls (and boys)!

You are just not thinking right if you won't play limbo with the SS to show how LOW you can go.

I get it - the music is on an off-beat. Just can't get in the groove on this one.

I dislike the whole approach. Some companies are sending a "blanket" email to a list of notaries & waiting for someone to call them! It's a similar approach to how NotaryBay was set up, and that didn't work out well either. Like it or not, this is still a "make & receive calls" business. I'm one the road a lot & can't sit at the computer to wait for jobs to show up.
I have a Blackberry now, so I will get the email, but I'm not going to jump for those.
Yes, they are mostly lowball fees.

Yeah, I don't at all mind the ones who email BO contact information, then leave it up to me to schedule and get it done! Wish I had a few more like that!!

They are coming from bargain low ball shoppers. Saves them

numerous outbound calls. they just receive the calls and call back the lowest one. When they look for lowest fee IMO they just do not care about the quality, dependability, honesty and knowledge of who they are hiring.

I am getting them too. Like others suggested, I just hit delete. End of problem.

I'm with the deleters, with a few exceptions for regulars

who know I'll get the job done and have established fees.

My feeling is that if the SS doesn't have the business sense to call? Doesn't have much business sense at all.

Playing a numbers game, (we used to call it "smile and dial" in the boiler room)- may work for advertising, but not so much for filling orders in a timely and efficient manner, establishing business relationships, or ultimately delivering great customer service.

Sometime back, I got a frantic call from someone unknown to me, screaming about a missed appointment. When I said I knew nothing about it, she said 'but I sent you an email.' I was at the computer, looked, and found it - in the spam folder, and confirmed I never accepted the offer (bo info in an attachment.) She seemed sure that because she emailed me, I automatically promised to accept. I calmly explained that no, it didn't work that way, and a phone call would be the way to confirm a signing.

This 'broadcasting' of jobs via email just seems a rather pathetic way to try to build a solid pool of professionals. Compare that crap-shoot to the successful SSs who actually want to talk to us.

Re: I'm with the deleters, with a few exceptions for regulars

I think times are just changing..My last job was like this, the scheduler sent an email blast out to employees for hours for a specific time frame and it was first come, first serve on who got hours and who did not. IMO, that's going to be the direction it's going to go towards as it's too easy for a scheduler with a TC or SS to have pre-established groups of recipients in areas and send out an email and see who bites first/lowest.

I don't agree with trying to compete and see who the lowest bidder is, otherwise, I really don't mind an initial e-mail for a signing.

What is ALL this keeping the Br's information confidential.
Who sees/answers an e-mail blast? Could someone be on thier e-mail list that is there just to get infor so they can"steal" IDs.

Re: Email Notifications of Closings..I don't like it

except from my established clients with whom I have a pre-agreed fee...to me this is just a way to avoid negotiation for time, travel, etc....they say "this is what we pay, take it or leave it"....and it's usually not a fee that works for me.

MHO

No...and I have no need to hear it - I understand their logic behind it - doesn't mean I have to like the procedure...and doesn't mean I have to accept it...MHO
