Fees going down

Are any of you experiencing well known companies to lower their e-doc fees to 90? It's ridiculous when edocs are usually 135 pages plus. Does anyone know why? Thank you.

This is MY fee. Accept, decline, negotiate.

Do I tell the grocer how much I'll pay for that loaf of bread? If I did, do you think he's just say OK? Hang tough.

Only if you let them.

It's your business, set the fees, then let the company decide if they want to meet them.

If somebody offered me $90 to take edocs...Id' take it...

...but my E-Doc fee is a SEPARATE fee from my singing fee. Smile

I'm one of the ones that itemizes everything out... and my fees are my fees. I will propose to a compnay what I will charge for a job, but I don't usually just take a total fee that I'm offered.

You are a business. They are a business that needs help. Often, when this occurs, said business puts out a request for proposals... or they hunt around and ask, "Hey, I've got a job. here are the details, how much will you charge me?"

isn't that how you work when you're looking to buy something? These people are buying from YOU... you set your prices, not them.

Of course... you can always negotiate or simply agree to their offer... but they do not set YOUR fees, YOU DO.

Sadly enough, someone is taking them. Maybe out of desperation to work. Don't know but it's killing me here for sure. The calls I use to get are no longer. I can only hope they get what they pay for. Especially now with gas prices on the rise again. I won't budge for sure. I may end up like others and get a job elsewhere. This area is saturated for sure. My 6th month absence didn't help me out either. Oh well. Such is life.

Marian

When I read your title line, I grabbed my chest ..... until I actually read your post. I sometimes take things too seriously.

As others have already said. You are running a business and you set your fees. Of course some companies will offer the lowest fee on the planet. The company wants ALL the money AKA Greed. If they could get you to take a bag of jelly beans as payment they would and you pay the shipping of course. The simple solution is do not work work for low-ballers. Cater to your good and reliable clients.

Good companies save themselves a lot of time by just doing business with their regular notaries. Pay your fee and get the time and date they need for their signings. While the low-ballers waste time and money playing "Notary Auction" on the phone.

Good grief! If anything we all should be charging much more then we do for signings. Just the cost of doing business overall has gone up at least 100% over the last few years. When was the last time you raised your fees ? If companies want a good reliable and experienced notary they will have to pay for one.

The folks that take those low fees are just playing a losing game and running themselves to death for NaDa. The more you rush and overbook the more errors occur, late to appointments,...etc. Not to mention the cost of being a mobile notary.

Low-ballers both companies and notaries have been a very hot topic on NotRot for years. Just get your set fee and let the rest take a walk. They simply are not worth it and are costing the low-ballers money to work for them. Makes you wonder if they have ever sit down and do the math on their business.

Everyone have a great day Smile
