Has anyone ever signed for a Purchase?
Just curious and where would I find out if Purchases can be done in your state? Have been looking around sites and can't get a straight answer.....Thanks

Yes We have them done in every state of the country. But some states you must be an attorney to do it.

I do purchase signings all the time but most are done in lenders, real estate or title offices.

As far as I know NC is not an attorney state...yet. I’d have the developer ask his attorney. However I’d bet that a person (developer or not) can sell his own land without an attorney, or realtor, or whatever. If this is the case you would not be involved in the ‘closing’ just notarizing the signatures.

I've also done purchases. No real differences. The sellers only sign a few docs. Most docs are the usual lenders' docs for the buyer.

The last I knew only attorneys could handle purchases in NC. I can't seem to verify that info anywhere. Why not check with a local realtor?

I was responding to another post she made a couple of posts down. What's the point in telling here we can do them in VA, if she can't in NC? FWIW we do some purchase signings in VA, usually borrower only side of out of state purchases that are often the purchase of a foreclosure.

I have done several in nc. I did the closing in the mortgager's office. Kind of a pain waiting on buyers to arrive. Sometimes the realtors are present. Several last minute changes that come in on hud to the office while I'm there and mortgager prints out from title company. Other than that and no RTC, it was pretty straight forward.

I've closed many purchases.
If they want me to record and hand out checks afterwards, I charge more, and request the closing be done as close to the ROD's office as possible. I'm not driving back to someone's office to hand out checks after the recording!
