IE8
Have any of you upgraded to IE8 yet? Do you like it or not? Trying to decide whether to go with it or not. TIA

I just started Google Chrome, and it has been great. Runs way faster for me than IE.

It was hacked within 20 min of its release. I have always been a fan of Fire Fox. It's more secure and runs faster than any IE. Google Chrome is also a good browser. Until a few weeks ago I would often switch between using IE and FF but have completely stopped using IE b/c I was infected with a Trojan and all my passwords were compromised through IE of course.
The only downside to FF is that some websites may not display as they are intended to. During the programing of a web page, some if the language that the composer uses may not be completely compatible with FF but those are few and far between.
If you are interested in FF you can download it by going to www.mozilla.com. FYI, they also offer a free email client, Thunder Bird. It is very similar to Outlook and as with the FF browser, it is also more secure than its Microsoft competition.

I have IE8 on my Windows Vista and it is very slow. I agree with sobeit, go to Firefox.

For those who prefer firefox but have the occasional problem with viewing a web page, there is an add on called IE Tab. You click on it and it displays the page through the embedded ie window. I use it occasionally and it works out well.

IE8 seems slow for some reason. And I have tons of RAM. It seems to be something in the program codes itself that is causing the longer search times. I am sure they will fix that as more updates and patches are released.
I have tried them all and find no reason to switch from Firefox as my primary browser. Sometimes you run across a site that only works well with IE. Firefox has this little add-on called "IE Tab" a nifty little thing that when you run across a site that needs IE to work well, all you have to do is click on this tiny icon in the lower right hand corner and presto, you are running IE within Firefox without having to shut down and open a new browser.
Beware, Google Chrome in my opinion. I tried it again last week and had some of the same spyware / virus issues that I detected and posted about 6 months ago. I don't know how much attention that Google is paying to security. Google is spread pretty thin these days with all they have going on and their cutbacks in staff.
Being an old Apple guy, I run Apple's Safari for Windows as my secondary browser actually works quite well and is fast. It does have more compatibility issues with IE sites than Firefox, though. But if you are into iPods and use iTunes, you will find that it is much faster than the others.

I use "IE View", also an add on for Firefox. The advantage to using IE View is that is opens an IE window on your desktop, not within Firefox. There is no need to shut down Firefox when running IE. Both will cohabitate on your desktop.
Another nice function of IE View, is that you can tell it that certain URLs must open in IE. Then when you enter the URL in the address bar or click on a URL link, it will open that website using IE.
Additionally, IE View will add a feature to IE to allow you to open the current page in Firefox.
There seems to be a couple of issues with IE Tab as reported on the Mozilla site:
... with the new versions of firefox it seems to cause issues. After a struggle of trying to narrow it down, I finally found that IETab was the cause of me not being able to bookmark webpages in the browser. Hopefully these types of bugs are taken care of soon!
... IE tab 1.5.20090207 is not compatible with Firefox 3.0.10. If you would like to use IE tab right now, I recommend that you still use Firefox 3.0.9.

Thank you everyone, for your responses. I believe I will stay with IE7 and also check into Firefox as well.
