Think I'll be late
for my 7:30 closing? It's only 7:25 now and here I sit awaiting docs. I hate TCs that can't get it together. Took the order around 6PM yesterday so they've had all blessed day to get the package together, approved and emailed. What a waste of time.

Blame the lender/over-worked processors.
The only thing the TC has to get "approved" is the HUD, and if it is rejected by the lender it's back to the drawing board for the TC for that HUD.

Had an appt. that moved from 1:00 to 4:00 ... an hour's drive. Processor at the title company sent the settlement sheet for approval around noon. She called lender around 2:30ish to ask status ... they told her she was still number 10 "in the rack". I got docs just before 4:00 ... got to borrowers at 6:00 since I had to do another appt. in between. Those of us who do understand know that there is nothing she could do to move the lender along.
By the way ... she changed her voice mail to say something along the lines of ... I'll call back as time allows ... those who state they are anticipating the boom just don't get it.

Not always the case
I had a 7 PM last night that was 1.5 hrs away (yes, I was getting paid well for trip) Started calling at 3 about docs. Finally at 6:30 I called the TC and told them the borrower was unhappy because they had plans to leave at 8 for a party. TC says, "oh, I gess I better send them, you will have the docs in a couple minutes." and I did. 2 minutes later docs arrived. You can't tell me they were waiting on a HUD.
