Alabama Notaries: What Time is YOUR Primetime?

I've been boasting about being available for closings and notary appointments 24/7 but I find that 85% of my closings start at 5:00PM. I'm beginning to think that "24/7" in Alabama doesn't mean a whole lot.

What time do most of your closings "start"? Is there a pattern or is it all over the board?

TIA for any comments.

PS: I'm mostly interested in Alabama responses because my gut is telling me that this may be a regional thing; but non-Alabama notaries feel free to respond.

The majority of my requests are for 5:00pm and 7:00pm.

The majority of my signings seem to fall in the 5:00 to 7:00PM slot. However, I am beginnig to get many requests before noon and especially for Reverse Mortgage Applications and signings.

My closings are bascially all over the board. But mostly before 5 P.M.

I see them all across the board, but the majority are 5-6 and 7pm. It's like there is an unwritten code: 20 signings in FL today, all at 5pm or 7pm. I have a feeling it is much like that everywhere.

Thanks, jb/fl

I used to stress to schedulers that I was available for early morning closings because I really am an early-bird and figured some homeowners would love to get the closing out of the way before work. But that's happened only once or twice. I know understand that a scheudler would rather hear from me that I can be available from around 4P - until.

When I was working for TCs, it was always 4pm to 9pm for me. Sunday signings were rare. This area is very churchy.

Now my prime time is 10:30am to 3:30pm, including weekends and holidays. (The latter can be busy or dead.) I've done a very rare 5pm.

I don't mind being available 7 days a week partly because none of my competitors work on Sundays or holidays. And almost none work in the evenings.

But there aren't many streetlights here so driving from "office" to home in the dark means I feel like I have little flashlights duct-taped to the front of my car. And there's tons of wild life + people's cats so it nerve wracking.

I live in a super weird area that is perfect for little ole me. If all I wanted to do was RevMorts for honest LOs and rich people, I'd move to Scottsdale.

No clue if this is helpful. Hope so, Michelle. LauraV

ps: Is "honest LOs" an oximoron?
