Background Check

When I first started my business I inquired on background checks & made a note of one that charges $25. Now that I want to go ahead & get it done I can't find the web-site. There are so many options, employee, criminal, personal.... Not sure which one is appropriate. Has anyone had a background check done & who is reliable. And of course what type of check should I get? Thank you in advance.

You can purchase a great one here on NotRot, if you are in

this business to get calls and make money you may want to beef up your profile. You can also purchase a BGC from the fine folks you have listed in your profile.

As Jim has said, you can go another route & get one here at NotRot. You can also go to LexisNexis directly instead of going through XYZ. Keep in mind they are still promoting theirs as being the only acceptable one (yeah, right).

I recently researched BGC's on this website and found a message where the poster says she gets a free BGC every year from Lexis Nexis. See message # 299894

Their website says it takes about 4 weeks - I just submitted mine a week ago via email and haven't gotten the BGC back yet, so I can't comment on any personal successes with this just yet.

Re: Background Check - UPDATE

Just got the BGC in the mail from LexisNexis - all 37 pages of it. Took about three weeks from time of submission and didn't cost me a dime.

Re: Background Check - UPDATE

I just checked the link you talked about at LexisNexis. That report doesn't contain any criminal background check, which I'm assuming is one of the things these companies want. Without the criminal check, I can't see where their "person" check is of any use to us.

Re: Background Check - UPDATE

Not sure where you got that info - the one I received from Lexis Nexis did contain a section with a criminal background check.
