Brother printers

Hi All,
I have two hl5250 printers and they both started leaving roller marks at 70 to 80 thousand copies. I'm going to buy another 5250 because I like them and the tray cost as much as a refurbished printer. I thought that the lines were caused by a sticky roller, none of the rollers are stuck. Has anyone ever fixed this problem?

I have 2 HL5240's which are similar to your model. You'll need to replace the photo drum. You can buy just this item on e-bay and install it yourself.Last time I bought one, it was about $25.00 and 5 min. to install.

Line stays with the machine through toner and drum replacements. Since both of mine died the same way I thought this might be common and someone might have a fix.

Fixed mine replacing the drum and throughly cleaning the unit because toner had leaked, using the same printer now for 7 years.

Just picked mine up from shop today....

I have an MFC 8460N. Was getting black streaks down the middle of docs. Had to replace the fuser roller. Big bucks!

From time to time you need to clean the corona wire. I learned about this from Brother tech support.
On the back of the drum unit there is a blue tab w/an arrow on it. If you slide that back & forth 30 times it will clean the corona wire. Apparently toner builds up on it from usage. Works like a charm for me.
