CLOSED FOR YOU - New rip off technique...

I have attempted to enter Closed for You to Signing Central several times without success.
Barb and Jim Noble
Closed for You
1235 Kildale Sq S,
columbas, OH 43229
(614) 738-4862/ (614) 738-4863

Invoice outstanding for 120 days;
Claims the check was issued but hasn't cleared the bank;
Won't reissue unless I pay the stop payment fee!
There is no evidence that the check was ever issued, so why should I pay?

Great rip-off technique.

You might not be able to add them to Signing Central, because Jim Noble has a personal listing in NR. This so fustrating. Call NR directly to ask them to add it, or use the contact us button at the bottom of this page to see about adding it for you.

We all benefit for this type of comment to be available in Signing Central.

Let Closed for You know that you will let their client (the title or lender) know what they are trying to pull, if a good check doesn't arrive by xx/xx/xx.
Good luck!

I have closed a ton of loans for Barb and Jim they have always paid me on time and are very professional. What are the circumstances of your complaint !

It's still not right to require the notary to pay the stop payment fee for a payment that was not received... sounds like Closed For You needs to man-up here.

Certainly they could provide check number, vouch that the checks on either side of your check number has cleared. Why couldn't they trust your word when we must trust they will pay us. Don't give up!

I have closed a lot of deals for Jim over the past few years and never had any problems receiving payment in a timely manner. I don't think you have listed all the details of your problem in order for the rest of us to determine why we shouldn't continue to deal with Jim. How about all the facts.

Golly... what other 'facts' do you want? The Notary did NOT receive a check in a timely manner. They say they sent it and their records show it was not cashed. They will not issue another check unless the Notary pays their bank's 'stop payment' fee???? This is not how business is conducted.

Seems silly to have to issue a stop payment order

now. After 120 days, if the check hasn't cleared the bank, it ain't gonna clear .......

As far as needing more facts, Lee has it right. SS says they sent check, Stoli says he didn't get it. If it didn't clear bank Closed For You should issue a new check without trying to charge a stop payment fee. That is what a business with integrity does.

As for the stop payment fee, there several banks and credit unions that will let you stop payment online without talking to anyone and won't charge you a fee unless someone actually tries to cash the check.

Re: Seems silly to have to issue a stop payment order

How much is it to stop payment? $10.00 I'd rather get "something" than nothing at all and that is what you are doing.

I wouldn't. The burdon of proof is on the 'paying' entity. n/m

Hello, i guess the question for you is not, why should i, it is why am i being difficult in helping the company out with doing some research and doing what needs to get done so i can get paid.
i have done hundreds of closings for Closed for You, and NEVER and i mean NEVER have i had a problem getting paid, i go the extra mile and so do they, the quantity of work that i do get from them totally outways the occasional cost of doing business and maybe spending a couple extra dollars to fix a problem. maybe go ahead and pay the stop payment fee and then get your check and dont complain about it. i understand where u are coming from, there are ALOT of companies out there that screw you over, and wont pay and wont communicate with you, I GET IT, i have been doing this for over 10 years, i have closed over 20, 000 loans, i work for 120 different companies all over the country, it would kill my reputation to not go the extra mile and do some things that sometimes i dont want to do, tomake sure it all gets done and i comply occassionaly to the signing companies request,( as foolish as they may sound), you might ask them that the next time you do a closing for them that might be a little bit of a drive for you, that maybe you request an extra 10 bucks or 20 bucks and that will help make up what u spent on the stop payment fee. this is a CRAZY biz, roll with the punches, or they will roll over you, GOD BLESS

Sorry this came in as many entries, listen, i dont complain much as many of you probably have never seen me on this site in years, but i understand where everyone is coming from, but, stoli might not be telling the whole story, did he call C4U and go ballistic on them and threaten them with suit and be all negative and stuff? we dont know. please tell me that i am not the only one who will go the extra mile and do stuff that sometimes costs a little extra, no we shouldnt HAVE to pay, but if thats what needs to get done, OK, lets get it done.
lets bash the companies that truly out there to rip us off and not bash those who arent.

Geez, Chris, get a grip.....you posted this 7 times?

Just to support a company that isn't paying someone?
Good grief, it's the company's responsiblity to cover issues like this, not the contractor's responsiblity.
