Did u know NNA members are National Notaries?

Only joking, but had a lady at AL notary conference who thought and stated that she was (National not international). She also stated that she has been creating deeds, bill of sales, agreements and more for people and then notarizing what she created for them...Louisiana yes, Alabama UPL.

Just thought this was quite funny.

If she truly believes that....and DOES do all that?....not funny at all - and someone needs to get her on the right path before she causes all kinds of problems..

I have run into more than one of these "graduates" that believe and have notarized documents while in other states on their California commission ......

Aye, aye aye...

The process really needs to become more stringent to weed out these people.

Good grief. I can see where some would misconstrue -- National Notary .......
Those of us that have been around a while know they don't do a lot of help the industry.

Jim, I'm not sure if I'm thinking about the same lady,

but I remember the one who went to the microphone and said/asked, "I have been preparing immigration related documents and contracts for 14 years and I notarize those documents as well. I am not an attorney but I've been doing them all this time and there's never been a problem. Should I keep doing what I'm doing or not"? Of course, this is an direct quote but it's close enough. Well, you could hear crickets in the room. I think most everyone was shocked by her public admission and ignorance. The reps from the SOS said in the kindest way they could that they would not want to put themselves in such a precarious situation. I couldn't figure out if this woman worked for an attorney, or for some other business. Unbelievable!

Good grief. Thanks for the entertainment value, Michelle

Now THAT was entertaining.

I'm in disbelief that she's not insane to make such statement.
