Dynamic - funny story

I find it amusing when it appears that someone is trying to pull one over on me. I received a call yesterday afternoon from DFS. I explained that due to my personal experience and the reviews I have read here and other places, I would not be able to help them unless my full fee was made up front via paypal. He seemed taken aback that I would suggest such a thing, but politely hung up. I received an email from DFS later asking for the same signing, my response was the same. Two hours later I receive a call, "Hi Kim, this is XXX from, uh, hmmm, California. Are you available for tomorrow at 7pm" I recognize the number, even though she did not tell me she was from Dynamic, I knew and gave her the same information I gave earlier. She asked if I could see how far it would be so that we could negotiate a price, I told her what my price was and her response was that "we are only getting paid $105 for this one". I apologized and told her my price stood.

Point one - don't try to avoid who you are when you call. Be upfront. I understand that many of the individuals who call may not have anything to do with making sure the notaries are paid timely, but be honest, please. It makes it easier on all of us.

Point two - why in the world would a signing company accept a signing for $105 when they know that they are going to have difficulty in finding a qualified notary to do it for that price.

Geez, I never heard back, so maybe someone else took the signing?

They called me last week. It was like pulling teeth to drag the company name from the caller. I declined the assignment becuase of their history (thank you NotRot!). She asked could she negotiate a fee with me even though I had already told her no. The same woman from DFS called back about 10 minutes later and I let it go to voice mail, she left a massage for me to call her if I could do a signing, as if I didn't just talk to her five minutes ago! {eye roll}

I think we've all had some experiences with this co. or similar ones, and the desperate tactics they have to use in order to get anyone to work for them. Good for you for standing your ground. It hurts all of us when someone "surrenders" to the low-ballers & non-payers. If they have a problem getting someone to take their assignments it's their own problem.

I just can't figure out how companies like Dynamic and Sox

continue to get new clients and stay in business after screwing so many notaries for so many years. I guess it's because they tell their new clients they will charge them $105 per order.

It's a sham. These companies continue to take clients at low-ball prices, when they can't get anyone to take the signing anyway. Talk about poor business practices.

LOL, she said the same thing to me yesterday when she called. I asked the name of the comany and she just said "Dynamic". I was not availble for the signing so the conversation did not go any farther and after looking up the company here I was glad I was not available!

Your second sentence answers your question - because yes - they WILL get someone to do it for $75-$85 and make $20-$30/file - do that 10 times a day from the comfort of their home and they're making $200-$300/day, $1200-$1800/week (based on 6 days) - no printing, travel, grief at the table...nada...and to top it off they take the privilege of keeping the notary's money too - soo multiply $105 X10 X 6.....quite a week's income there...

Jim, you mean the very last part of the post?

No...I mean $105 X 10 X 6 - if they don't pay the notary they keep the whole thing...that was my point there..

This is evidence that the low life's at Dynamic will do anything to screw signing agents. Glad to hear there are some diligent agents that put this sewer company in their place. How they stay in business is beyond me. However, there always seems to be someone in my area willing to accept their low fees and no pay policy.

I don't think its funny at all! Why do you enable them?

You have no problems taking their money- therefore enabling them to to keep on doing what they do best, take advantage of us. But it is OK with you to do business with them. Talk about scruples!
