HELP!! I need an envelope stretcher! LOL
213 page refi....3 borrowers. YIKES! That's gonna be fun trying to get that in a UPS envelope. Nice one to start out with on a Monday after the holiday. I'll try to stuff it all in there when I get back after the 58 page faxback is done I suppose. May try to get them to ship FedEx...their envelopes are slightly larger, although not by much. 1/4 inch may make the difference.
I'm outta here. This one's gonna take a while.

Use the paks - the plastic or tyvek ones
Or, use two taped toegther somehow. DTF did that once, under penalty of pay reduction if she didn't use cardboard mailer.

Exactly what I do too.
Penalties be darned.

Stuff it in cardboard 1st, then into tyvek envelope, even if
you rip the cardboard some, it will keep the docs from getting bent up and/or damaged. Have done it numerous times.

Spend the two bucks and buy a large bubble wrap envelope and use that. Awhile back, I had a 250 page refi and rather than go through all that [trying to shove the docs in the shipper's envelope, the bubble wrap envelope solved the problem.

Thanks for the suggestions, but this one didn't close...
The 3rd borrower was in Texas, but about 600+ miles away from me. LOL Wasn't supposed to be a split signing, although I tried to work it out to where it could be tonight but they said that for a split signing one set of borrowers can't sign at the end of one month and the other sign at the first of the following month. Never ran across that before on a split, but certainly makes sense as it could change the first payment due date to February instead of January.
These kids were just great, with the Loveliest little daughter you ever saw. Both the borrowers were just as sweet as they could be. Made my phone call as soon as I realized what the situation was, which was just after walking in the door and asking where Jane Doe borrower was, and found out she was about 600 miles away LOL. They're not upset, and just really had a nice little visit with them. Everything is just peachy with the SS, and I feel richer for being able to spend a half hour just visiting with these young folks. After shredding 426 pages of docs I may change my mind. LOL SS taking care of me, and I think they're one of the greatest.
NOTARY ASSURANCE, INC. is a class act, IMHO.
Thanks again for the suggestions. I'll probably do the first leg of this closing next week. Second leg is coming to El Paso. If you see ol JJ's name on there, you'll see how I do a closing. If I get the second leg of it, I'll see how YOU do a closing. Who ever gets it out there, lets just be sure we're 100% perfect. These are really, really nice people.

I had an unexpected split signing last month just like this, last day of the month; one of the signers was in Riverside, the rest of us were in the Central Valley.
I'm a private pilot; so I offered to fly it over if they were willing to give me the second signing and pay for fuel.
I just don't know why they wouldn't go for that...?

First off, 213 pages is insane. Second, you could use two
envelopes: 1 of 2; 2 of 2, and copy the oringinal printed weigh bill, or make out two if you do your own.
And, 58 page faxback? I hope you charge for that. Personally, I scan and email, and charge for the service.
Hope all went well, and it's not too late a night.
Had three last week - Daughter, RN, took care of her delightful folks and was a borrower too. We had tea and cookies, yum.
Seriously, 213 pages, twice? No redundancy, right?

Re: First off, 213 pages is insane. Second, you could use two
Didn't close so there was no faxback. I charge for faxbacks over 10 pages, so that was covered. Had permission to scan and email the 58 pages, so that was also covered. They actually get cleaner docs back doing it that way as it has no Faxing info at the top of the page....it's identical to what they will receive. I ALWAYS encourage that, but some want it faxed.
More than half the docs were on letter sized paper. If you shift the letter sized docs to the middle of the legal sized docs, you can get it in there, but it's just puffy in the middle. It's a pain, but it works. If you tap all the docs down to where they are lined up at the top, you'll NEVER get 213 pages in a UPS envelope. It just doesn't work!
I was offered a glass of Shiraz, and accepted a half glass after we knew there would be no signing. Had a really nice talk with these kids. They offered dinner too, but I declined.
If there are enough letter sized pages, you can pull off getting about 250 pages in a shipping envelope, but only if you put those letter sized pages in the middle of the legal pages, if that makes sense. It's a manual thing, but it works.
Very much appreciate the input!
As far as redundancy, yes there is but you gotta consider that there has to be a second set of docs for a 3rd borrower that are separate loan docs from the other two borrowers. It's not a full, double, closing, but the 1003s are separate, etc., etc. etc...initial disclosures are about 28 pages each for Mr. & Ms. Doe and then the same 28 pages for Borrower 3. That automatically increases the packet by 28 pages. Throw in the W9, etc., etc., and you can hit 213 pages pretty quick on a fairly large loan packet if there were only 2 borrowers to start out with in the first place.
Gotta tell you though that the Docs were VERY clean! No changes in names, everything could have been executed if not for us moving into December tomorrow. Would have been a pain scratching and initialing all those changes, but I coulda pulled this off, if not for the last day of the month signing for these folks, and then mom signing in December. I understand why that doesn't work.
I learn something new every day. When I stop learning, I would imagine that I won't be posting here anymore.

I had one a couple months ago - 264 pages TWICE....there were so many duplicates I initially thought "okay, not so bad, they sent borrowers' copies too" - nope...I had to print the beast twice....
Still waiting to get paid on that one - my first signing with MortgageDocs.com in two years and they pay 45-60 days out....very clear on their confirmation.....they're due now.....

Hope you collect it! Did you get those 264 pages in a UPS Legal Envelope?

Once I did a signing for a 221 pg. loan package which was being sent to a title company who insists that every package be sent to them in a carboard UPS envelope. I called them and said that I didn't think I could fit that many pages in a UPS envelope because past experience had proved that I could barely stuff 170 pages in one of those envelopes. They gave me permission to sent the paperwork in something other than a UPS envelope. I had the loan package sent in a UPS Express Pack, which is like a large plastic bag.
