MIC VA Refis now running 169 pages

They're pretty much up there with the old Countrywide loans now. Tomorrow morning's closing packet is about 10 pages more than the one I did for them yesterday. Not sure why it's bigger today than yesterday, but it is. Didn't have time to really look at them and see what's new yet. Than, of course, you have your 4 legal pages of instructions telling you if you do this or that you're gonna get docked or we'll never use you again, as usual. As long as they're paying the fee I can't knock it. They just keep on comin, so I'll keep doing them.

Drove about 270 miles today. I'm about read to get my robe on and lay down and watch some mindless movie for a little while and then crash. Got some kind of problem with my pool pump that I gotta figure out what's wrong with it. Hopefully have enough time in between my morning and afternoon closing to fix it. Lookin forward to 4 days off next weekend. YAY!

Have a great night all!

JJ

Duplicates, triplicates, kitchen sink format. Hiking my fee

for MIC - will not take another with Company Policy "do not contact borrower" directive- was told that signing agents "killed the deal" with confirmation calls.

Signing took 2 and one half hours, including an hour trying to get live "closing assistance" person for borrower questions re "exorbitant" fees, and "agent's promise that more was going to pincipal than interest". (Borrower's quote.) Size of package was a big issue with borrowers too.

The MIC "Hybrid" ARM is still an ARM, and as the economy slowly recovers, T-Bills will too.

So, I'm of the opinion that these folks will probably cancel. They noticed with skepticism that many disclosures were shrunk, yet printed on legal. Apparently another red flag. If it funds, I truly hope it works out well, they were delightful folks.

Bottom line - printing fees going up according to package size. Toner and paper aren't going down, and "do not contact borrower" - it's against MY company policy - and I see no reason to change it.

Re: Duplicates, triplicates, kitchen sink format. Hiking my fee

The last two I've done, one was nearly 150 pages and the other was 120 pages. I tried upping my fee with them a while ago after having two surprise POA signings which took over 2 hours each due to the large packages and POA signatures on each doc. However, NVS will not pay the higher fee and simply moves on to the next notary on the list. I do have a minimum fee on these that I won't go below, and they only call me when others (cheaper) in my area are unavailable. The last one I did took only an hour with one borrower (the 120 pager), so hopefully those other two POA marathons were anomalies.

I cannot believe the fees people are paying with these loans - it's absolutely crazy! However, NVS if you are reading this, don't worry I keep these opinions to myself and just get the paperwork signed.

Nice folks. Took 55 min to close. They were a little upset at first that the notary didn't show up yesterday, but got over it pretty quick. Still a lot of docs, but didn't bother them.

Re: Duplicates, triplicates, kitchen sink format. Hiking my fee

Nearly 200 pages of dups, trips, quads for some docs & some were scattered here & there in package. 3--or was it 4-- copies of the 1003...not exactly identical as some had initial lines on each page and some didn't. I did manage to get the fee increased. B's signatures/initials got sloppier as time went on & on & on....

I did my first VA loan app the other day and was shocked at how many pages there were (104) and so many duplicates and triplicates!!! I thought at first it was actually a refi because most of the docs were the same ones that are signed in a refi packet but of course there was no mortgage or note - but I bet when the refi package comes through it wil have all of the same things to be signed again as well as all of the junk docs, mortgage and note and duplicates and triplicates! I imagine the package will be about 150 pages - at least. I wonder what they do with all of those papers that were signed for the app? Anyone know?
